Tonneins stands above the River Garonne and was once the tobacco capital of France. It is a pleasant town with several cafés, bars, individual shops, a large post office and three supermarkets. Agen is a bustling town with many restaurants and great shopping. Villeneuve-sur-Lot has a market every Tuesday and Saturday morning, whilst Marmande, famous for its tomatoes, holds a tomato festival every July.
