Stretton lakes is situated within 120 acres of farmland in the picturesque county of Rutland. 4 luxury round log cabins are surrounded by woodland and set overlooking our fishing lakes. Our award winning 4 & 5* lodges are finished to an exceptionally high standard. Each lodge has its own private six seater outdoor Hot tub spa.

We offer weekend and mid week mini breaks aswell as full weeks.

All our lodges have fully fitted and equipped kitchens leading to an open plan, dining and lounge area. Each 4* lodge has a double room with en suite and a twin room with a seperate bathroom. A sofa bed is available for an extra couple if required. Our lakeside 5 * Lodge is a one bedroom lodge only with Hot Tub and Sauna.

These unique bespoke lodges have a real alpine feel, with log burner glowing during the winter months perfect for a romantic break or longer holiday whatever the time of year. Each lodge has its own verandah leading to your hot tub. For al fresco dining wooden furniture is included, BBQs are available on request. We have six coarse fishing lakes which all are available to lodge guests for free.

We are located between the Market towns of Oakham and Stamford and only 15 miles from Melton Mowbray.

The England region

Rutland Water has an international reputation for sailing, trout fishing and bird watching and all these activities are open to day visitors. The site includes the Anglian Water Bird Watching Centre with its fascinating exhibition and internationally famous nature reserve with 20 bird hides. It is the site of the first breeding ospreys in England for 150 years and is also the home of the British Bird Watching Fair each August. Activities for all water sports include the hire of Dinghies, Windsurfers,Canoes, Kayaks, row boats, and Power boating. Watersports here is available to suit all abilities.

For the more relaxed approach, Rutland water boasts an excellent woodland and nature reserve, butterfly and aquatic centre, bird watching and dog walking.

For those less energetic simply find a bench and relax watching the activities as they pass over the shimmering water. Or take a cruise on the Rutland belle.

Bird watching: The osprey can be seen flying most days between April and September.

Oakham is a pretty, traditional English market town, bustling with activity and current holder of a coveted Britain in Bloom award. Packed with heritage, there's plenty to see in Oakham which makes it ideal for a day out, many boutique shops.

Oakham has a thriving Market Place, on a Wednesday or Saturday selling local produce, meats, cheeses, bread and eggs.

On the 3rd Saturday of every month a Farmers' Market comes to Gaol Street in Oakham. A host of quality produce direct from the farmer assures quality and less food miles for the consumers' conscience. This is a great addition to a weekend break in Rutland.

The dining choices in Oakham is wide and appealing plenty to choose from cafes and tea bars to restaurants and pub food, there is an excellent range of quality outlets.
