The Lazio region

The region of Lazio: the Tyrrhenian sea and the small town of Ostia are about 25-30km away; the Ostia Antica excavations are nearby, and are a world famous archaeological attraction.

The entire length of the region is bathed by the sea. At 100km there is one of the most beautiful coastal towns, San Felice Circeo, where there are sandy beaches and rocks and from which you can visit the three of the most beautiful islands in the world, Ponza, Palmarola and Zannone by ferry. We can also accommodate you here on request; in fact the owner owns a beautiful villa with views and its own private path down to the rocky sea, right opposite the islands, in the midst of the San Felice Circeo National Park. We can also offer an independent cottage with terrace, a bedroom with 2 single beds, bath and kitchenette on request (ask for brochures).

To the north, at about 75km, there is the port of Civitavecchia, where tourist ferries depart for the islands of Sicily and Sardinia, and Spain and Tunisia. To the north east you can visit the Appennines, where at 100km you can go skiing at Monte Terminillo. The cities of Rieti and Viterbo are also of interest to tourists. Around Rome, at about 25-30 km, you can see various lakes such as Bracciano and Nemi (in May it is famous for its fruits of the forest).

Trastevere is right in the centre of Rome: numerous restaurants, lots of pizzerias, several pubs and so many local shops are mere metres from the apartment.
