The Dordogne region

The region is well known for it's Chateaux, Pre-history, food, wine and stunning scenery.
During July and August there are many night markets, concerts. festivals and open air theatres.

The property is situated on a quiet rural road on the very outskirts of Beynac. It stands in woodland giving shade from the heat of the sun. The village is conveniently situated at the bottom of the hill just 2km away with all commercial conveniences.
The Dordogne is well known for its water activities and the river is only 2km away where there are many canoes for hire and boat trips up and down the river. There are numerous impressive chateaux that can be visited within the immediate vicinity. The area is also known for its prehistory and there are many caves and museums to visit. Other attractions include a large aquarium, formal gardens, hot air balloon rides, helicopter and light aircraft trips over the area. If wine tasting is more to your liking there are many vineyards to visit in Bergerac and Cahors, both just an hour away. Needless to say the Perigord region, being famous for its food, offers a host of eating options from the simple “plat du jour” to a Gourmet meal to suit all budgets. There are some recommendations in the apartment.
