The Grand Massif region

Situated in the French Alps, the region has two main seasons, winter and summer. In winter the French Alps has an excellent snow record and skiing for all abilities. In summer, it is an outdoor playground with beautiful scenery, stunning views and a host of places to and activities to do.

Morillon itself is situated in the beautiful Giffre valley. The source of the Giffre is in the mountains separating France from Switzerland. Beautiful waterfalls (Cascades) can be seen at nearby Sixt before the river flows through the picturesque town of Samoens and on down eventually to meet up with the Rhone.
Besides the playground of the river there is the beautifully clear Lac Bleu (with its own beach) to sunbathe and numerous paths up through the mountains to walk or mountain bike.
Morillon and the Grand Massif are a skiers paradise in the winter. With over 265 km of pistes, the ski area caters for all abilities. Morillon 1100 has its own ski school and the resort is particularly child friendly as everything is close by.
