Our gites are cleaned and sanitised in accordance with current recommended guidelines for Covid 19.

Superbly renovated and equipped, handicapped friendly and with not 1, not 2 but 3 private terraces, Les Ecuries, at our property Le Bouchet, definitely has all you need to get the most from your holiday!

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a large double with its own seating area and another large bedroom with three single beds. Each bedroom has its own air conditioning unit. There is a large family sized bathroom with shower, toilet and heater.

Downstairs there is large double bedroom and a bathroom with a walk in shower, non-slip tiles, a thermostatic shower, a disabled toilet, grab rails and heater.

In the open plan living area the lounge has comfortable seating for seven people and is fitted with UK and French satellite TV, HiFi system, DVD player. The dining area has a large table seating seven and the kitchen is very well equipped with all modern conveniences including a dishwasher and washing machine.

There are French doors opening out onto your own private walled terraced areas. The first terrace is decked and set at the same level as the lounge, to provide easy wheelchair access, and has a barbecue, table, chairs and a pergola. The second is a south facing terrace with sun loungers that also provides direct viewing access to the pool for the mobility impaired. The third is a quiet courtyard terrace, also suitable for wheelchairs, that has been landscaped and planted with banana plants, cannas and other exotic plants. There is a table and chairs to dine out in the evening and catch the last rays of the sun and a shady pergola with patio furniture.

Pathways lead from your private terraces to the rest of the gardens of the property, to a sunbathing area, other entrances to the pool and childrens' play area.

Le Bouchet is close to some of the most beautiful and impressive chateaux, such as Chenonceau and the captivating Villandry, and is the ideal location for your holiday, whether you want to relax by your heated pool or go out to discover all of what our wonderful region has to offer.

With the historic towns of Loches, Tours and Poitiers and the fantastic Futuroscope amusement park, all within easy reach, you are bound to find plenty to see and do for all ages.

A couple of minutes away from your gîte is the small town of Descartes which has restaurants and bars and can provide for all your needs with supermarkets, chemists, butchers, bakeries and a Sunday market selling everything, from fish to flowers!

For the more active amongst you there is a water park, canoeing, golf, horse riding, sailing, horse racing locally and birdwatching in the Brenne National Park.

Why can't I call Trevor/ Susan (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Trevor/ Susan (the owner) a message.

If Trevor/ Susan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
