“Fantastic Stay, Villa & Hosts”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2018

We have just returned from a fantastic weeks stay at Villa Alta Vista. The Villa itself boasts of 3 good sized bedrooms, a great open plan living/ kitchen /dinning room with modern and comfortable decor, as well as facilities such as high speed internet, cable T.V, air con in each room and a well appointed kitchen. The sun terrace (a real all day hot spot) and pool area have wonderful views of the mountain side, farmland and then out to sea and fantastic outdoor kitchen, BBQ and shower. Greg and Thomas are extremely accommodating hosts with great knowledge of the the local area and fantastic attention to detail. I would have no hesitation to stay again when I revisit this beautiful part of Spain.

“Best holiday ever!”

I'll start with the villa. Arriving at your holiday accommodation and finding cobwebs, grime and dust is grim - our experience arriving at Alta Vista was the opposite - the place is clean, spotless, immaculate. The fixtures and fittings and finish are of the highest standard. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses for all manner of drinks, and it all matches! Talking of matches, they were provided too, as the hosts ensure that all essentials (and more) are there, so no need worry about taking loo roll, handsoap, washing up liquid, salt and pepper etc. Towels for use around the pool as well as bath towels were provided, which isn't usual in self-catering accommodation. The beds were extremely comfortable. We spent a lot of time in the pool which was regularly maintained by the hosts. The view from the terrace is absolutely breath-taking and is never the same one evening to the next. The villa is located about a 7 minute drive up Mount Pego, and about 25 minutes from the marina at Denia. A car is essential, as there is little to do within walking distance but the pay-off for that is, of course, total tranquility. There are other villas around so you don't feel isolated, but Alta Vista isn't overlooked so privacy is maintained. We wanted a peaceful holiday, and that's exactly what we got. We visited beaches (our favourite was the most local one, sorry, I can't remember the name but Tom and Greg will be able to tell you!) went kayaking, visited the castle at Denia and had a walk up a mountain. That was hard work and would have been much better attempted first thing in the morning, but the views were rewarding. We saw paddleboarding and kite surfing, and there are valley walks to be had. When (not if!) we return, we will visit Valencia as T&G highly recommended that -the food market sounds amazing with a Michelin-starred street food stall! Denia has a wealth of restaurants to suit all pockets and is fun to visit at night, with the marina all lit up. I've saved the best till last. The people. To repeat a previous reviewer, Tom and Greg are two of the nicest people we have ever met. They take pride in their business, which is all about making your visit perfect. They can provide a wealth of local advice, and are inconspicuous despite their proximity. Any time you need anything, you can text Tom and he'll reply promptly. They are fantastic chefs, and you must must must take them up on their offer to partake of their supper club - we had the seafood paella on the first night, and it was so good, we ordered the tapas experience later on in the week. The food was top-notch, you'd pay top dollar to get such high quality food at a restaurant, and it's all brought to your villa. They took away the washing-up and even brought us the left-overs to have the following evening! All in all, the most brilliant holiday, and I can't wait to return.

Owner's reply: Dear Vicky! Thank you so much for your lovely comments! We are both so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Alta Vista and that you made the most of this beautiful area. We certainly enjoyed meeting you and having you stay... here's to next time! Hugs, Tom and Greg

“What a little gem”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2016

Had an absolutely brilliant stay at Villa Alta Vista, I am only sorry it has taken so long to review it. From the moment we booked the communications were excellent so our expectations were already high. Then after a 4 hour flight delay we were very pleased to find that we weren't disappointed. The owners are a lovely couple and were very friendly on arrival. They told us everything we needed to know and didn't outstay their welcome! The house instantly felt like home from home and had lots of creature comforts such as air con in every room, comfy sofas, TV with English stations, WIFI. Beds were incredibly comfy (so much so we wish we'd found out where to get them from!). Outside the pool area is a great sun trap from about lunchtime onwards. There wasn't much space around the pool for anything other than relaxing so we decided to do just that! Greg is an excellent cook and we had a great Tapas evening during the week. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to try his Paella. The Villa is in a lovely location but you will need a car. Denia is a short drive and is a lovely town for days out and there are many other places worth visiting a short drive away. Tom and Greg were happy to advise us where everything was and how to get there. All in all definitely somewhere we will be coming back to!

Owner's reply: Hi Alan! Thank you so much for your kind words, it's so nice to know that you all enjoyed a comfortable stay! Very much hope to see you again in the near future :-) Tom and Greg Ps. The king size bed was brought over from the uk and is from John Lewis and your bed, the super king is from a Dutch company called Haco Muebles in Denia.

“Wonderful villa and excellent hosts”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2016

This villa is in top notch condition and in a beautiful location. Villa is much better than the pictures and we can fully recommend it. The owners made us very welcome and accommodated to our change of schedule in checkin. They are super friendly and quick to help you when needed, but still mange to give you as much privacy as you wish. The area is very clean, well kept and feels safe. You will need a car as there are not many services within walking distance. Lots of nice places to see within a short car ride away.

Owner's reply: Dear Harri and family, we're so happy you had a lovely stay at Villa Alta Vista... We're delighted that you liked the villa and the location.. It's just a shame you couldn't have stayed longer! ;-) Best regards Tom and Greg
