Looking for something quite different? Buscarro is an exceptional property in a fabulous location just outside Denia town. It has a lovely secluded setting, being surrounded by orange groves, yet is very close to the area's best sandy beaches, bars and excellent restaurants. The extensive private tropical gardens and unusually-designed boomerang-shaped pool create an environment found in few other rental properties. Within the grounds there are various open and shady terraces for daytime lounging, rooftop terrace for evening cocktails, table tennis, lawns, orange/lemon grove, colourful bougainvillea, almond/pomegranate/olive/fig and other fruit trees, and many palm trees of different types. Cacti and other succulents abound. The views across to the mountains are spectacular. Most visitors find it hard to tear themselves away whilst staying here!
The accommodation consists of a substantial 3-bedroom country-style villa (El Buscarro), with a separate studio apartment above, and across the pool a 2-bedroom stone cottage (the Casita) which is roomy and full of character. Each of the three is self-contained. There is wifi at the property, and there are 4 outside dining areas in total (1 rooftop, 1 poolside, 2 on terraces with awnings). Teenagers & young couples particularly love the separate studio.
The entire property can accommodate 2 or 3 families holidaying together, a family with grandparents joining them, or a large group looking for something unusual to accommodate everyone. Perhaps a special occasion or function? Take a look at some of our guest comments later.....people have had some special holidays at Buscarro. It provides great flexibility in an exotic environment that is rarely available for such group combinations

El Buscarro and the Casita both offer self-contained facilities on one level. Each has lounge with beamed ceiling (with sofas/ SAT TV/DVD/CD/MP3 port), large kitchen and dining areas indoor and outdoor (incl. awnings). El Buscarro's kitchen and bathrooms are new and modern. The studio has fridge and mini kitchenette. Spacious Spanish character has been retained throughout, with stone features, traditional wooden doors and beams. Winter lets can have log fires in the main house. We include games/books for guests' use. 12 is the maximum number of adults accommodated in 4 doubles & 2 twins (one of each in the Casita), but there is a fold-away bed available for an extra child in the studio. High chair and cot can also be arranged by advanced request. There are bedside units in all bedrooms and the Casita has both air con and bedroom fans. El Buscarro has been designed for cool throughout even the warmest times and in addition has proper freestanding or ceiling fans in all bedrooms. All windows have insect screening. El Buscarro offers a large family bathroom (containing both a freestanding shower facility and a bath), a separate toilet room with sink, and the master bedroom has a uniquely designed walk-in 'dressing area' and follow-through en suite with walk-in shower. The studio has its own bathroom with shower. The family-size Casita bathroom contains freestanding shower and bath and also has optional en-suite access from the master bedroom.
|Further details outdoors|
There are various terraces outside the properties and around the pool, providing both sunny and shady outdoor dining, relaxation areas and sunbathing. We request smoking outside. There is a poolside shower and a large freestanding traditional Spanish BBQ complete with stone/marble table and chairs offering poolside dining close to the BBQ . In the 'pool room' there are pool/beach toys and garden games, and outside there are many sunbeds/cushions/garden chairs and parasols all for our guests' use. Our quality outdoor table tennis table is for our guests' use. Please bring towels for outside use by the pool and on the beach. Our extensive tropical gardens and unique pool provide a setting that is very special for a private rental property. Children love exploring the grounds, finding dens and hiding places. The grounds are watered 2/3 times a week by sprinklers and water pipes to keep them lush in the Spanish sunshine. At different times of the year you may be able to pick fresh from the trees: almonds, figs, olives, pomegranates, clementines, and of course oranges and lemons for home-made orangeade and lemonade. There is electric gate entry into the grounds and a shady parking area for a number of vehicles. Families with small children will find the property secure. The studio apartment has its own entrance and is located above the main house. Off the casita is a courtyard filled with bourgainvillea and other colourful succulents. From here there are spiral stairs to the rooftop terrace and wonderful views. In the evening there is attractive lighting to the pool and across the grounds.
There are literally hundreds of quality restaurants in and around Denia, ranging from very exclusive ones to excellent good-value establishments offering daily set menus. Nearby, there are sunset restaurants set right on the beach that are suitable for families, allowing parents to relax while children play on the beach in front. There are also ice-cream parlours here and various shops including a chemist and a newsagent/baker . In the town there are numerous traditional tapas bars. We've devoted a whole section of our comprehensive Guest Manual to bar & restaurant tips for our guests during their stay. Denia has a thriving and sophisticated late night bar scene in town at weekends, and particularly out on the new marina all week during the Summer months.

The Valenciana region
Take a leisurely trip to the Jalon Valley and stop for lunch at one of the many Spanish villages, or go on a day's outing to Guadalest village/fortress with a refreshing dip in the Fonts D'Algar pools and waterfalls and a spectacular mountain drive back, or visit the area's coastal headlands for wonderful views, sheltered coves and snorkelling. If you're active, you may want to climb Montgo mountain. For families looking for activities beyond the beaches and the pool there is a Safari Park, Terra Mitica Theme Park and Aqualandia Water Park, all within 30-45 minutes drive from the villa. For golfers, there's a rich selection of courses nearby including the renowned La Sella course only 10 minutes drive away, plus large clubs at Javea and Calpe. Denia's Tennis Club is close-by. Try horse-riding or biking through the orange groves nearby. For sea-fishing there are numerous possibilities. And of course there are all the beach sports to hand: volleyball, jet skis, scuba-diving, snorkelling, boating, surfing, windsurfing and quad biking.
Denia is a beautiful typically Spanish coastal town situated between Valencia and Alicante, and is made picturesque by its setting at the base of Montgo mountain, with its own 'ramblas' style main street, castle and quaint old town opposite the harbour. In contrast to much of Spain, the area has a lush feel to it due to the orange groves that surround the town. Frequently quoted as having the most ideal climate in Europe, with pleasant cool sea-breezes during Summer afternoons, it has a thriving fishing port, boat trips along the coast and daily ferries to Ibiza/Majorca. During summer evenings the harbour area restaurants buzz and there is a nightly street market. There are many excellent quality shops and some of the best of the area's hundreds of restaurants are at the new marina. One of the joys all year round is taking a long stroll all along the beach to Denia harbour. This golden sandy beach retains an unspoilt nature, is ideal for children, and sunsets can be specular.
Denia's claim to fame is having the most fiestas in Spain. We hope you'll be lucky to catch one, whether its bull-running or one of the many processions through the town's main streets. Check with the Tourist Information Office.

Beautiful villa, beautiful location with plenty of space for our large party to spread out and have some space whilst enjoying the company. With four families making up our large group this was a fantastic bonus. Great location if a little bit of a walk to the beach, and within easy reach of Denia town with a car. Villa has everything you need and most of our group were happy to spend much of their time at the villa around the pool, on the terrace and around the bbq. There were six children in our party ranging from 2 to 15 years old - they all had a fantastic time with the pool and pool games, table tennis tournaments etc. With lots of happy children we had lots of happy adults. A thoroughly enjoyable time had by all and I think I can say we will all remember this trip, and would certainly love to return! Thanks Mike and Isobel. Jill, family and friends (Wirral and Manchester UK).

Just a beautiful location with a 15/20 min stroll to the beach. A simply brilliant, unforgettable holiday and the best money I have ever spent. Thank you

"Simply magical place"
The location of this property makes it very special, being peacefully tucked away amongst the orange groves, yet so close to a gorgeous low-key beach, where there are lots of beach bars and restaurants and activities (volleyball, jet skis, pedalos etc). As well as the location, it is the setting, the landscaping and the greenness that sets Buscarro apart from most other villas. What a place to wake up in, and to view the amazing sunsets from the top terrace with sundowner drinks! We're already missing relaxing in those gorgeous grounds. The set-up, with accommodation on opposite sides of the amazing pool, is perfect for a large group. It gives everyone space to spread out. It is very well kitted out with everything one could possibly want in a self-catering property. Well done Isobel & Mike for all your efforts! Denia is the nicest place we've stayed anywhere on the Spanish costas- low rise and full of Spanish character. I hesitated to write this review, and a month later have only just got round to doing it, as once you've been to Buscarro it is one of those rare places you might want to keep a special secret for your friends & families! We stayed at Buscarro last Summer and had the most wonderful time! The villa was clean and spacious and it most certainly lived up to everyone's expectations and beyond! The facilities at Buscarro are excellent. Everyone was comfortable both night and day and we enjoyed many an evening relaxing in the grounds of the villa. The pool was fantastic! It was clean and warm and kept the children (and adults!) entertained all day long. There is a beautiful beach close by and much more (as stated in the advert!). We found the owners and the people whom took care of us during our stay extremely helpful - they certainly went the extra mile! The perfect setting for a family holiday - something for everyone!

"Five star gorgeous holiday accommodation"
We've rented villas for large groups in the past that have failed to live up to expectations. This one exceeded all our expectations and we had the most wonderful time here. The setting is spectacular: beautiful extensive gardens that are very lush, and a gorgeous swimming pool big enough for us all. It is tucked away in a very private location, yet everything you could want is so close by. The best of both worlds. We loved it so much we found it hard to tear ourselves away. Denia is how many Spanish resorts were years ago, before foreign tourists invaded. It is low key low rise and very Spanish in character. The nicest place we've been to in all our travels in Spain. The gorgeous beach is very close, It is wide, sandy, unspoilt and very gently shelving, so ideal for small children. Some evenings the adults sat in one of the little cluster of beach bars and restaurants while the kids enjoyed the beach. We spent many happy hours there. Other nights we'd cook up a big BBQ, making full use of Buscarro's extensive facilities. We loved the great lighting across the property in the evenings as it created a tropical atmosphere. We cannot recommend Buscarro highly enough for a large group as there is so much space. As well as families it would also suit groups of adults, as the layout allows a great degree of privacy from one part to the next. The perfect combination of having all your own facilities but having the space to be spread out. We've stayed nowhere else like this before and would come back for this alone. We loved every minute of our time there. It was with some sadness that we had to leave and we have only wonderful memories. Richard & Kate (London)
