The minute you step into 148 Middle Street you feel totally at home. The cottage has been very thoughtfully decorated throughout with beautiful wallpapers, painted floorboards and attractive upholstered furniture. The cottage is an ideal place to visit throughout the year. Middle Street is the heart of Deal's Conservation area and runs parallel with the seafront so you are literally a minutes walk from the beach, you have seaviews from the 2nd floor bedroom. It also is very conveniently located for access to the town with 2 very popular pubs within a minutes walk in either direction from the front door and the main town centre 5 minutes walk away.

Ground Floor
Upon entering the property you step into the entrance hall leading into the sitting room, housing a wood burner, TV, a large 3 seater sofa which is also a sofa bed and a comfortable winged-chair.

A step down takes you into a light extendable dining room with seating for 6 and a large window overlooking the pretty garden at the rear.

Kitchen
A new, well equipped, kitchen with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and a cream Smeg fridge which has a small icebox. Wooden worktops and baskets give it a cottagey feel with 2 dressers housing all the pretty crockery. The courtyard garden can be accessed from the kitchen and has enough garden furniture for 6 people and has several deck chairs.

From the sitting room there is a door which opens to a winding staircase taking you to the -

First Floor
A good-sized bedroom at the front of the house with two large single beds that can also be zipped together to make another double if required. Built in cupboards house plenty of hanging space.

Bathroom
Step down from the landing into a large bathroom in the eaves at the back of the property with a lovely rolltop bath and a large drench shower over. There is also an airing cupboard housing the washing machine and boiler in this room.

Stairs leading to:

Second Floor
A lovely light double bedroom in the eaves with seaviews to one side and views of the street on the other. Again this bedroom has been beautifully decorated and has built in cupboard space for clothes.

This property does have steep and winding staircases and therefore would not be recommended for those with toddlers or young children, babies are welcome and a travel cot is available but please be aware that the property does have a lot of steps.

There is something for everyone in Deal, fantastic independent shops, a Farmers market on a Thursday and a very popular main market every Saturday, delicatessens, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Deal has a long Pier and the beach is perfect for soaking up the coastal scenery. Deal is a genuine Georgian town with winding streets and a lovely promenade.

For sandy beaches Sandwich Bay and Broadstairs are a short drive away. There are two wonderful zoos' to keep the children amused, Howletts and Port Lympne plus a number of other excellent family days out at Deal, Walmer and Dover Castle as well as The Canterbury Tales and Canterbury Cathedral.

For garden enthusiasts there are lovely gardens at Walmer Castle and The Salutation in Sandwich is outstanding.

It is golfers paradise in this area with Championship course of Royal St Georges at Sandwich, Royal Cinque Ports at Deal and Princes at Sandwich Bay. Other sporting activities include water sports and fishing. For bird lovers, there is a wonderful Bird Sanctuary in Sandwich Bay.

If you feel like a day trip to France, then taking a ferry from Dover or the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone couldn't be easier.
