Deal is located in the heart of White Cliffs Country. A great base from where you can enjoy the coast and countryside of East Kent, the garden of England and all its history.

Award winning vineyards, world class golf courses and a spectacular collection of castles are all within easy reach.

Deal

Deal has a number of English heritage sites nearby, including the two 16th Century castles of Deal and Walmer both within walking distance of the apartment.

The historic city of Canterbury with its famous Cathedral is a short drive away, whilst if you prefer something more modern then Margates Turner Contemporary Art Gallery is just as close.

We have three world class Golf course within a 15min drive of the apartment, including the 2011 British Golf Open course at Royal St Georges.

There is also great sea fishing right outside the door, and if you dont get a bite then the local fish and chip shop will even deliver to the beach!

Getting around

Deal is easily reached by road or rail. The Javelin High speed trains run direct from London St Pancras International in only 1 hour and 15 mins. If you prefer to bring the car we are easily accessible from the A2/M2 and there is free parking directly outside the apartment (a rarity in Deal) with spaces easily available even in high season. From the apartment it is easily walkable into the heart town in under 15mins. Deal and the surrounding country side is very flat and perfect for anything on wheels! We have undercover storage for prams, bikes and scooters and a great local bike hire company should you need it.

“A lovely apartment in a great location”

We have just returned from a lovely stay in Deal. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable - providing a warm & welcoming base despite the weather. It was perfect for our elderly parents with all of the accommodation on one floor. We loved Deal and it was a great base for exploring the local area. Molly is an excellent landlord and we certainly hope to return in the future.

“Lovely way to explore Deal”

We've just spent four nights at The Marina, and found it to be perfectly located to explore Deal and its environs. All the rooms are tastefully furnished, well equipped and spotlessly clean: we didn't want for anything. Molly and Angus were excellent hosts and we'd recommend you look them up if you want to spend time in Deal. I hope we'll be back again soon.

We had a very enjoyable 4 night stay at 49 The Marina. The apartment was very well-equipped and comfortable and was ideal for my elderly mother, as there were no steps inside. She was able to manage the 5/6 steps leading down to the property outside with some help and holding onto the handrail. We were greeted with wine, chocolates and freshly laid eggs as a welcome gift, which was much appreciated after a 5 hour journey. It was lovely to be so close to the seafront and to hear the sound of the sea in the front bedroom at night. Parking was easy and the apartment was very accessible to pubs, shops, restaurants etc. Also great for long walks along the seafront and around the golf course to work up an appetite! The weather was cold and dull the first couple of days, so we didn't venture too far - went to Walmer Castle and visited Deal town centre. Managed to fit in a walk on the white cliffs of Dover (National Trust Visitor Centre) when the weather improved. We will definitely stay here again when we next visit Kent.

Definitely a great deal! Had a fantastic new year at 49 The Marina. The apartment was beautiful! Extremely clean, large spacious bedrooms, lovely and warm when we arrived, it had absolutely everything we needed. There was a welcome note with chocolates wine and eggs left which was a lovely touch and a folder containing information about places to eat and go and much more! The owner Molly was excellent at replying to emails and left us her number in case we had any problems whilst there. Deal itself was lovely. We spent new year on the beach right outside the apartment and watched some great fireworks. Overall we had a wonderful few days and have all agreed we would definitely come back to Deal and 49 The Marina. Thankyou Molly for a lovely stay.

“Home from home”

This is not just a holiday let this is a home from home. Within an hour of arriving everything felt very familiar and cosy. It is an ideal base both within Deal and the surrounding areas. Parking and the beach literally on your doorstep. The linen and bedding was very clean and soft. The house itself is very warm and there is no shortage of hot water. Utensils, crockery and cutlery all in abundance. The gifts left by the owner on arrival are a lovely touch. I recommend the Smugglers Inn, St Margarets on Cliffe for a meal, great chef.

49 The Marina is a blessing for people with toddlers. The only decision we had to make was when we wanted to stay. Knowing everything was there waiting for us to turn up helped enormously. Even the cot had already been made up when we arrived. The apartment is on the ground floor and you don't need to worry about letting your toddler roam around. It is also in an excellent location, being a 20 minute walk from the pier and right on the beach. I went to sleep at night to the sounds of the waves. The owners are lovely and very approachable. They even left us a little gift to get us settled in and the fresh eggs were lovely. While the apartment really does have everything you will need with a cot, bedding and high chair, I would definitely recommend visitors taking some toys with them. There are heaps of board games and some small toys for children but if the weather isn't great it won't be enough for a little one. We'd love to return one day. Thank you for the lovely stay.

Large, airy 3 bedroom apartment, spotless, well equipped and right on the sea front. 5 minute stroll to the pier, shops, restaurants & pubs. Molly & Angus were prompt in their reply to e-mails, welcomed us with a nice bottle of red, chocs & freshly laid eggs which was lovely. All the equipment for my toddlers was laid on, 2 cots, high chair, stacks of books, toys & DVD's with no addition to cost - very refreshing. Beds v comfortable with the therapeutic sound of the sea faintly audible from the front bedroom, fantastic, best let I've stayed in.

Good accommodation; clean, well equipped, very comfortable beds and lovely period features. Excellent position opposite shingle beach, plenty of on road parking near to the property, short walk to main facilities in Deal (restaurants, shops, pier etc). Wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future.

A very spacious, clean apartment with everything you would need for travelling with young children and small babies. Deal is a lovely seaside town and the apartment is right across the road from the beach. Would recommend.

We rented the apartment for a short golfing break and found it met our needs perfectly. The apartment was clean and comfortable with good sized rooms and had all the amenities we required. Location was excellent, right on the seafront and a short walk into the centre of town which had a good mixture of pubs and restaurants. I would be happy to rent the property with my Family if ever vacationing in the area.
