Description

The Cottage, Dartmouth, is a pretty 150 year old, refurbished cottage situated in the heart of Dartmouth, near the bottom of Brown Hill, one of the original stepped entrances to Dartmouth. The Cottage is just two minutes walk from the river Dart, shops, restaurants and the town car park. Close by is a selection of truly excellent restaurants including The Seahorse, owned by the celebrity chef Mitch Tonks, plus several charming pubs including The Cherub Inn dating back to 1380. If you are looking for a holiday without driving but includes good food, fine wines and river walks this the cottage for you.

The front door to The Cottage opens into a sitting/dining room with blue and white striped sofas, TV, DVD, CD player and radio. The kitchen has a Bosch dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier and fridge plus an electric oven, gas hob and microwave. The bedrooms are light white and blue and on the first floor there is a twin bedroom, bathroom with bath, shower over, WC and basin.

On the second floor there is a sunny single bedroom with windows either end, and a double bedroom with south facing doors onto a juliette balcony with wrought iron safety railings offering views to the hills over Dartmouth.

There is space to stop at the bottom of Browns Hill to unload, a pass for Mayors Avenue Car Park is provided from May to the end of October.

The England region

Dartmouth a historic maritime port is situated at the mouth of the river Dart. Home to the Britannia Royal Naval College, a commanding building which overlooks the whole town and river. The town has a nautical charm and fascinating history, reflected in its architecture, including the well-known Butterwalk, Bayards Cove. Dartmouth is well known for its choice of excellent restaurants, especially The Seahorse and Rockfish run by celebrity chef, Mitch Tonks. The pretty town streets house a unique collection of galleries and individual shops. Kingswear is on the Eastern side of the estuary overlooking Dartmouth and has a well stocked village shop and Post Office and a selection of pubs. An ideal location for holidays without a car, there are good transport links to Brixham and Torbay. The heritage steam railway runs seasonally to Paignton, following the river and coast. There are passenger and car ferries across to Dartmouth running all year round.
