“Relaxing long weekend with the family”
We have just returned from a 3 night stay with our family (8 adults). The house was immaculate, it was very clean and spacious. The massive kitchen / dining room has everything you would need for a comfortable self catering stay. The through lounge was well equipped with a TV, free view box, DVD, a Nintendo Wii console and a well stocked bookcase. The 4 bedrooms were all modern and beautifully decorated with plenty of storage. All in all a fantastic house that is a credit to its owner and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a home from home holiday rental.
Really great house - so immaculate really well presented and equipped! Great location - Chatsworth Bakewell and Matlock a very short drive. Fab Indian restaurant at the bottom of the road. Great fields at the back of the house for a game of rounders and a play park. Would definitely recommend and return!
A lovely welcome from the host to a good sized house with everything you could want for a cottage break. In a good location for lots of places to visit by car or walking. The house was very comfortable and equipped with everything you could need including lots of games DVDs and babies toys that were most welcome.
What a fabulous place to stay for Christmas and New Year. Nestled in the Derbyshire Dales on the edges of the Peak district. This home offers fantastic views across the valley. Easy access to Matlock and beyond. Walking distance to not one but three local pubs and an Indian restaurant. Being on a hill could have issues for the less ambulant. We were snowed in for almost two days but had plenty of supplies and brilliant neighbours who came round with candles on Boxing Day when there was a short power cut. They also lent us a spade to clear the drive. A marvelous slope at the back saw many families sledging for days. They very generously loaned sledges to the children in our party who were improvising with plastic bags. Definitely a community spirit even if we were only there 10 days. The house was better than it looks in the pictures, almost everything you could need in the kitchen. All finished off to a very high standard. Kate was there to meet us when we arrived and gave us early access as no one was moving out the day we arrived. I would definitely recommend this property.
“Fabulous house, clean, comfortable and spacious.”
We had a lovely time at Thorncliffe the kitchen diner is so spacious and lovely to eat in and socialise - the location is really good for Chatsworth trip - beautiful walks all around and gorgeous countryside. Beds really comfortable and everything in good working order. A freshly decorated really cared for smashing place to stay. The added extra is it is a fantastic price for such a lovely property.
“Fantastic host, house & holiday!”
Kate was very friendly & quick to answer queries etc before, during & after our stay - we could not have asked more from her! She even left toys out for the 4 kids in our group The house is amazing - a real pleasure to stay in & loads of really flexible space. It has a really luxurious feel about it - but not in a way that makes you scared to use stuff! The playground & playing field behind the house are little gems & all the neighbours are really friendly too. We had an amazing stay & especially enjoyed the peak railway & walks in the woods behind the house. Thank you again Kate!
I an my family have enjoyed the stay in this home, Ms. Kate and steve welcomed us with warm smile, there was fresh milk, bescuites, sugar and tea. the accommodation is well decorated and suitable for vacation,
