Situated in the beautiful countryside of the North York Moors National Park is 'Hillsover,' a stone built 18th century cottage. Formerly two properties, a sympathetic and extensive reurbishment has been carried out to provide a traditional country cottage with character. Sleeps seven in four well presented bedrooms. There are three bathrooms and the property has been designed to meet the needs of the discerning guest. In the sitting room there is also the option of a sofa bed for the unexpected guest or additional party member. There is a ground floor shower room and toilet. The relaxing sitting room has a large open fire with beamed ceiling, two sofas and comfortable seating.There are great views across the village green and beyond to Danby Dale and Castleton Rigg.The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher and there is central heating throughout. All bed linen and hand towels will be provided for your arrival. Outside there is a patio with seating and compact

Next door is The Fox and Hounds Inn, a Visit England four star recommended high quality residential country pub and restaurant. Open all year round and serving great food, selected wines and cask ales. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals are available at the pub so no need to cook! Local attractions include the North York Moors Railway, Castle Howard, Eden Camp, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, Goathland - where TV series Heartbeat was based, Danby Moors Centre and of course, the glorious heather moors and local beaches. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only (maximum two dogs) and an additional charge will be payable. Free high speed Wifi available.

The Yorkshire region

Ainthorpe nestles in the North York Moors National Park. Famous for its moorland heather, grazing sheep, red grouse and amazing wildlife and other birds. It is a place of real beauty and changing scenery. Exploring the area is one of the best features with moors and coast easily accessible. There are many different towns and villages to seek out as well as the more well known attractions such as York, Castle Howard, Whitby, the steam railway at Grosmont and Whitby and Pickering.
There are great beaches to visit at Sandsend, Saltburn and Runswick Bay.

Danby

The North York Moors National Park. and surrounding area is a great place to come and relax. Alternatively, if you are looking for an active break then cycling, strenuous walks or running on the moors is very popular. Fishing is available at local reservoirs, rivers or along the coast. Pleasure trips out to sea and organised fishing boats are available at Whitby. Shopping of all types is catered for in the many local towns.

“comfortable, spotless, fabulous”

found this little gem last minute and got a fab bargain. could not fault anything and beds soooo comfy. idyllic setting and fabulous views quite remote but a pub next door so couldn't complain.
