The Old Kirk is very large with lots of interesting different areas within a mezzanine open-plan structure, which gives guests a quiet, peaceful experience even with larger parties. The inside is tastefully, and modestly decorated to make the most of the orifinal church features. It is great fun for families with kids with play areas both inside and out.

Weeks are preferred, with changeover day FRIDAY except the Xmas and New year weeks, which will be made to suit.Shorts stays also accepted, except in Summer months.Xmas and Hogmanay on request.There is an adjoined 1 bedroom flat (the Vestry) whose tenant can be called upon by the owner to remedy any urgent issues guest may have.

Downstairs:- 1 double- 1 twin Upstairs:- 1 super king- 1 split level room with 2 twins up top and 1 single downstairs - perfect for a couple with child with a little privacy.

Due to the multi-level nature of the interior, the Old Kirk is not suitable for wheelchair users and not recommended for people with mobility constraints. If in doubt , please call.

The gardens of the Old Kirk are fully enclosed with wire fencing, giving security for children and pets.There is a large patio area with luxury seating for 10 and a makeshift BBQ built into the stone walling. There is a garden laid to lawn with a climbing frame and a swing. (used at own risk)A shed offers more toys.

Perthshire lies in the heart of Scotland and The Old Kirk is very centrally located for exploring the local area and Scotland's biggest cities. Dunkeld is only 6 miles away and offers a good selection of shops including a deli, butchers, greengrocers, grocery shop, newsagents, post office and a number of specialist boutiques. Dunkeld and neighbouring Birnam have a huge amount of history, with the Birnam Oak, the only survivor of the wood that played a significant part in Shakespeare's Macbeth, thought to be nearly 1,000 years old the Birnam Oak now stands with its lower branches resting wearily on crutches. The Beatrix Potter Garden in Birnam tells the storey of the author and her life in the area, whilst over in Dunkeld stands the magnificent Cathedral, close to the banks of the River Tay. Pitlochry with its Festival Theatre, Explorers Garden and good selection of shops and restaurants is only 10 miles away. The area is well known for its spectacular scenery and there is no better way to explore than by walking on one of the many forestry tracks and way-marked trails. And for the more adventurous there are a number of Munros (mountains over 3,000ft) within an hours drive. The great outdoors has much to offer in Perthshire, especially Aberfeldy just 7 miles away, with water sports, fishing, golf, horse riding, cycling and off road sports available locally. If you fancy a day out in the city, Perth is just a 30 minute drive, with Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness all within 1 1/2 hours. The Old Kirk is a perfect base for exploring the Perthshire area and beyond.

Dalguise

Dalguise is a small hamlet with a few houses dotted here and there. There are forest trails at your door. perfect for a walking or cycling holiday. There are also golf, horseriding, fishing and watersport activities nearby.

“Perfect for a quiet break”

Just returned after a 3 day break with friends over New Year. Well kitted out kitchen with everything you need. Comfortable lounge area. Good sized bedrooms. Good location 5 minutes from A9, with easy access to forest walks, etc. Dog friendly. Would definitely recommend this property.

This is a beautiful, spacious property which is perfect for a sociable get together. It's in a lovely location not too far from dunkeld, which is well worth exploring. A hidden gem!

“Fantastic holiday home”

We would not change anything about this wonderful holiday home. Everything we could have required, and more, was provided. We visited as a three generation family of seven and three dogs, and there was enough room for everyone to enjoy their own 'little corners' when they wished, as well as the large sitting area. We loved it and will certainly recommend it to friends and other family members.

“Lovely spacious house in a fantastic location with great facilities for children”

We had a lovely relaxing week in a great location. We rented the property as two families with four small children and a dog. There was plenty of space both inside and out for children to run around with lots of toys available for the children to play with. The dining table was great for big group meals and the two fridges had plenty of room for our enormous Tesco shop which delivered to the property on the night we arrived. The property was nice and warm, due to its underfloor heating, which meant it was possible to walk around with socks on and much easier to build lego castles on the floor. The location was great with lots of different activity options for wet and dry weather. We did a variety of local walks with children, munros for the adults, runs in the great woods behind the property, visits to castles, soft play, cinema and some shopping all within an hours drive. I would recommend the Old Kirk to any family looking for a relaxing week away.
