“Perfect base for outdoor activities”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2016

Coming up from Cardiff to take advantage of the local mountain bike trails, Cwm Cottage provided us with an excellent base. The Penmachno trails are just around the corner and the Marin trail and Coed y Brenin roughly 30mins drive away so the location could not have been better for us. Cwm Penmachno is very quiet and peaceful and the cottage warm and comfortable for evenings of recovery. All the mod cons are there, TV, Wi-fi, cooker and hob, dish washer and washer / dryer - the latter being particularly useful. The sofas and beds were comfortable and all the pots, pans and cutlery we needed were there, and some to spare. We had a really nice stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Thanks Jon!

“Perfect place to enjoy a vacation”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2015

We stayed as a familiy for 3 nights. The house was well equiped for that, everything we needed was in place. Nice bathroom facilities, kitchen perfect, heating worked well. We slept very well in the beds, there were extra blankets if needed. The surroundings were beautiful, our stay was nice, quiet and relaxing. Perfect!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your review. We're really glad you and your family enjoyed the peace and quiet. Cwm Penmachno really is a quiet tranquil place. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Jon

“A hidden gem at the head of the Machno Valley”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2013

A beautiful location, this cottage is set at the head of the Machno Valley. Cwm Penmachno is a charming hamlet with lovely scenic walks by the river and through the local slate quarry. The cottage is off the beaten track but easy access to the Welsh coast and travelling around Snowdonia National Park. Cwm Cottage is very well presented and equiped, a home from home experience.
