“Very nice accomodation with very friendly and helpful owner”
Sun room and terrace are excellent for relaxing and accomodation overall is very spacious and well equipped. Layout is rather unique but is governed by the fact that is in an old building and is not a problem. Access is through the garage from a busy road and up a flight of stairs so might not suit everyone. Patricia the owner was extremely friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English which was very useful as we had car problems and she phoned the garage for us to sort things out. Overall apart from our car problems, we really enjoyed our stay and Narbonne is very interesting to visit.
Owner's reply: Thank you Gareth and Trish to have chosen the Gîte Belle Epoque for your holiday. It was very nice to have had chats together and a nice walk when I took you with my car to Narbonne.
“Spacious, quiet, well appointed town apartment”
Spent 2 excellent weeks in this appartment. Patricia was extremely friendly and helpful. We very much appreciated the huge lockable garage which kept the car cool and safe. Good selection of local shops closeby inc. boulangerie. The appt. was very quiet, yet only 10 minutes car ride into the vibrant city of Narbonne (lots going on inc. free concerts of all types of music and local produce markets) also fabulous indoor food market called les Halles. 30 minutes to beach of St Pierre La Mer. Lots to see and do in Narbonne. Good cafe scene.
“A great french experience”
The apartment was exactly as described in the advertisement, a two storied well appointed home that has been tastefully decorated with the owners artistic flair. We found it a very useful base from which to explore the Languedoc area. The owner responded prompty to any requests we made and provided very useful information about the local area and people.
“Wonderful French experience”
This was a true French experience. We entered the apartment through a garage which opened onto the road. This was appreciated as this provided safe, secure parking for the car. The apartment was spread over two floors. The decoration was typically French and included a very welcome terrace. We used the bicycles provided to cycle into Narbonne along the canal for an afternoon-only 6.5 km. The apartment was well placed to explore the area in all directions. The village had all the basic amenities such as Boulangerie, charcuterie, fruit & vege store, bars, small super market and winery. The owner was very nice and responsive to any issues.
“Private, quiet, Village apartment”
This is a huge original refurbished wine warehouse, full of character.. The owner is a joy to deal with. Totally quiet and private.,with a garage For the car. Clean and well priced. Close to supermarket and other Amenities. Recommended.
“Very helpful owner of an unusual, well equipped and stylish gite.”
Central location to get to mountains, beaches and towns. Unusual villages and canal close by. Cathar castles within driving distance.......recommend a visit to one. Although a large town Narbonne was surprisingly peaceful during the week but busy on market day. Spend an evening watching the birds on the terrace until dusk. A warm sun trap during the day !!!
“fantastic, well equiped, luxurious great location.”
A fantastic gite in a great base. Very friendly owner.this is a stunning location for touring this area, within a short drive of so many sites.the guys is very luxurious, with excellent facilities, stunning bathroom, sun terrace and kitchen. The village is lovely and is a great base for touring.
“Great Gite - a lovely experience”
This is a really comfortable, spacious Gite, discreetly tucked away in the old town of Cuxac D'Aude. It is a modern Gite, tastefully furnished and well equipped. It has a private roof terrace and conservatory which is a real bonus and allowed us to enjoy some lovely sunny days, unexpectedly at this time of the year. It is 6km from Narbonne which is a lively , bustling French city and close by are the Canal Du Midi and river Aude, great for cycle rides and walks. The surrounding area is attractive with vineyards and the mountains in the distance and there are a number of small villages close by to visit, which all have their own individual interest and charm. Patricia , the owner, is French but speaks English well, which made the booking all the more easier.
“Free Flying Displays an Added Extra”
Completely hidden away in a street near the town hall in Cuxac the gite is spacious and elegantly furnished. It combines character with convenience. After preparing an evening meal in the fully-equipped kitchen, you can move on to the roof terrace to watch a Farnborough-quality flying display by dozens of swifts and house martins. You get an encore at breakfast. Cuxac itself does not offer great visitor attractions but it is an ideal centre for touring dozens of picturesque villages and small towns which are the hallmark Southern France; visiting Narbonne, Beziers and Carcassonne and exploring some of the most beautiful stretches of the Canal du Midi. The area has loads of good- value restaurants where we found a warm welcome and interesting food. You will always find something different (in our case that included bumping into Jeremy Clarkson). We had visited a neighbouring area before and already knew a few “must-see” places, but Patricia offered advice and practical help which really enhanced our holiday. For anyone who enjoys a taste of the South – in every way- this is a great base.
