Open plan sitting/dining and kitchen to enable family to be together

Terrace leads off kitchen for al fresco meals etc.

Separate utility room and cloakroom downstairs.

There is a sitting room, with wood burner which leads through to a big kitchen/dining room, all being open planned. The kitchen is fully equipped and as with everything else, all items are new, such as electrical units, crockery and cutlery.

Leading off the kitchen dining area there are patio doors leading onto a wooden deck area, looking over the garden and countryside and placed perfectly for taking advantage of the late afternoon sun setting.

There is a utility room that leads off the dining area, this includes a downstairs toilet and a door out to the garden.

Off the sitting room there is a staircase leading up to two "en suite" bedrooms, both having baths and a shower.

Attached to the house is a barn and some small sheds, together with an area to park cars, which belongs to the house.

There is a BBQ for the use of our guests.

There are several large fishing lakes in the area and we also let our own lake with special permission

Further details outdoors

Location description from owner

The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region

This area in the national park is very popular with ramblers with so very many hills and forests and lakes
also for fishing and canoeing;

Many châteaux to visit, caves, grottos and beautiful towns

Full of history- Richard coeur de lion area. Limoges-famous for it's porcelain and a beautiful old part of town.

Cussac

Cussac is a lovely very small town which has all one needs for everyday purposes such as a boulangerie,a chemist, tabac, supermarket, bar/cafe/ etc. There are several fêtes each year as in Chalus, La chapelle Montbrandeix and Piegut where there is the very popular Wednesday market

Brantome is a MUST SEE described as the Venice of the Dordogne only 40 minutes away. Too many châteaux to mention all-Puyguillame is the smallest privately owned château. Orador St Glane is a reminder to everybody and is well worth visiting.

Famous flower festival the first weekend in May at St Jean de Cole-one of the prettiest villages in France

The area has a good selection of restaurants of varying food types and options from basic French to full International cooking of a very high calibre.

We are within one hour's drive of the Infamous Orador sur Glaine, where during the last war, the German Army massacred virtually the entire village, believing it to be part of the resistance. The French have left the burnt out remains of everything exactly as it as following this massacre, as a reminder and monument for the future. It is very moving and well worth a visit!!

We are only about 45 minutes to one hour from The Dordogne and beautiful towns such as Brantome and villages such as Saint Jean de Cole, one of the prettiest villages in the entire France and well worth visiting. The position is ideal for people who are looking for somewhere fo buy for themselves in the area and who need a base from which to work.

The old part of Limoges is also worth visiting and is full of charm and some beautiful buildings. If you are interested in walking around the Chateaux, there are a large number of these within a half hour to one hour drive of the house, many of these having large amounts of antique furniture on display, making a great day out and reason to relax at Penny Farthing in the evening with a glass of wine in your hands, on the deck before going out for dinner at one of the nearby restaurants.

A list of these restaurants will be given to you at the time of booking.
