“Spacious family accommodation with beautiful views”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2018

Applewood Heights is a very spacious house with wonderful views across the glen. Just a short drive (one mile) to the local beach and the beautiful Antrim Coast. There are restaurants at Cushendall, a picturesque coastal village just two miles away. We visited the Giant's Causeway, Belfast Castle and the "Dark Hedges", walked one of the many trails through Glenariffe Forest, and the children enjoyed the local beaches. We would have liked to have explored Carrickfergus Fort but ran out of time. It happened to be the Cushendall festival week while we were there, which was a bonus. Our family of eight (three generations) thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Bedrooms were ensuite and were very large, and most importantly, the beds were very comfortable! Re parking, we hired three cars and there was ample room for more. Alasdair gave us a big welcome on our arrival and actually prepared tea and biscuits for us all - something we have never experienced before. There was fruit and various groceries to hand - we had arrived by plane from England and this was much appreciated after a tiring journey. Our holiday was only for one week but we all wished we could have stayed longer. I would thoroughly recommend Applewood Heights to anyone wishing to explore the Antrim Coast and all its treasures.

Owner's reply: Jacqueline Thank you very much for your very generous review. It was all my pleasure to welcome you and your extended family To GLENARIFFE I’m delighted that you all enjoyed the stay and that you were able to get around so many events. We would be delighted to have you back again should the opportunity arise Kind Regards Alasdair
