Description

The Blue Ridge Aerie Retreat comprises of a 4 acre hideaway tucked high on a mountain at 4100' overlooking Lake Glenville just north of Cashiers, N.C.

The Aerie Retreat lodge consists of a recently constructed rustic cabin resort with spectacular views that can accommodate 8 in comfort and privacy. The Aerie Retreat offers three formal bedrooms, a convertible couch, king or twin daybed, and 3 1/2 baths in a private wooded atmosphere with all contemporary features, utilities and electronics.

Relax in front of the two wood-burning fireplaces in comfortable rustic style but with all of the modern conveniences including HULU Live, DVD, Roku, Netflix/Amazon Prime/Hulu, WiFi internet throughout the entire property (and back-up system), Sonos, X-Box and telephone landlines. Enjoy a full complement of exercise and entertainment equipment including both adult and child sized pool tables and ping pong; air hockey; fussball; rowing machine/weights/bench and TRX straps; treadmill; outside children's playground; 15' covered swim spa (winterized between November and April but available over the winter at extra charge); 14' trampoline; basketball, two paddle boards; kids kayak; fishing canoe and fishing kayak; fishing equipment; toys and board games; gas and stone grills, six person outdoor deck dining set, and much more.

The adjoining lot (9) is fenced and accessible by private gate from the paved road and by groomed path adjacent to the Aerie Retreat. It offers a large, flat grassy entertainment area, picnic table and fire ring with spectacular views of Lake Glenville and the Smokies, a partially covered meditation deck and fire pit with similar views, private gated parking for one 25'-30 RV, 30 AMP power, water hook-up and WiFi but no other support facilities. Next to that is Lot 10 which is untouched.

The Aerie Retreat resort comes with three boat access to the GreyCliff docks on Lake Glenville. Numerous trout streams and lake fishing abound. Rent a pontoon boat at nearby Signal Ridge Marina. A sand beach is just down the road on Pine Creek by the dam. Just 15 minutes to Cashiers; 25 minutes to Highlands and 45 minutes to Brevard and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This is high elevation Blue Ridge country where the temperature is routinely 15-20 degrees cooler than Atlanta, Greenville and the other lowlands. The air is clean and the neighborhood is uncrowded - no structures can even be seen from the Aerie Retreat or its adjacent hideaway. Lake Glenville is the highest elevation lake east of the Mississippi, family and water-sport friendly. Photos cannot do justice to the beautiful mountain views. Nearby Cashiers has very good restaurants and shops and a modern Ingles supermarket. If you get Big Box fever, the Franklin Walmart is only 30 minutes down the mountain; if upscale shopping is your bag, the Highlands emporiums are less than half an hour. This is everything a high mountain retreat should be. And more.

The Aerie Retreat is not a "business" rental or a mountain party crash pad, but our home in the mountains that we occasionally rent for family reunions, retreats or meditation. Guests of the Aerie Retreat lodge will have sole access to the facilities on the adjacent lots (9 and 10) unless we are there.

Any inquiries about booking the Retreats should include some information about the proposed booking party, numbers and ages of guests, purpose of visit and interest in securing exclusive access to the compound.

A Rental Agreement must be signed before arrival.

Absolutely no smoking inside the Aerie Retreat. Well-behaved pets considered on a case by case basis. Absolutely no dumping of any kind is allowed

Reasonable advance notice is generally required because of the cleaning and preparation logistics.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
