Location description from owner

The England region

The North Devon coastline is as rugged as it is beautiful. For spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches whatever the season, there's no better place in England and in particular the beautiful golden surf beaches of Putsborough, Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton; the amazing coastal cliffs, some of the highest in Britain, rising to over 800' above the sea. Then there's the lush green rolling countryside for which Devon is so famous and the deep wooded valleys around Lynton with ancient oaks and rivers tumbling over giant boulders. Then of course the rugged wilderness of Exmoor - quite breath-taking in its desolation. Not forgetting the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Braunton Burrows, the fishing port of Appledore, still landing locally caught fish and Ilfracombe now boasting Damien Hirst's 65' sculpture, Verity. Places of interest in the region include:- Lundy Island, a Pirates' hideaway in years gone by, now owned by The Landmark Trust. It is well serviced by day trip boats from Ilfracombe - Clovelly: a world famous fishing village in North Devon, built into a cleft in a 400' high cliff. The cobbled street tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port. It is famous for its donkeys, which traditionally carry goods up the hill; sledges bring things down. There are links with Charles Kingsley, Turner, Dickens and the Spanish Armada.- National Trust's Arlington Court - a splendid regency house and gardens full of the Chichester's collections. Other properties in the region include Knightshayes and Killerton House.- Panier Market and Butcher's Row, Barnstaple - a must visit for foodies.- RHS Rosemoor - 65 acres of both formal and informal gardens - as well as woodland walks, water features and open spaces - there is something for children and adults alike to enjoy time and again.- Dartington Crystal, Torrington - at the award winning visitor centre you can watch the live demonstration of glassmaking and try the many hands-on activities we have to offer, as well as seeing the museum collection. The shop has lots of tempting goodies for everyone and staying at Point View will allow you to be in the centre of it all whilst staying in an idyllic retreat with Spa Tub

Croyde

A beach that goes on forever, rugged heritage coastline, stunning views, a picking of postcard thatch cottages and at the very hub…a traditional village pub. Nestling in the rolling hills of the Devonshire Golden Coast, sits the picturesque village of Croyde. With miles of sandy beaches, magnificent scenic walks and home to some of the best surf in Europe, Croyde is an extremely popular holiday destination for people of all ages. This idyllic haven offers everything a family should need from General Store and Post Office, to Croyde's heavenly Ice Cream Parlour and not to mention the famous pub of 25 years 'The Thatch', with it's delicious food and great live entertainment. Croyde is set in the middle of the 'Devon Gold Coast', so called because of the miles of beautiful beaches at Croyde Bay, Saunton, Woolacombe and Putsborough. Whether surfing, walking, cycling or relaxing is on the agenda, Croyde is a hive of activity during the summer, and a wonderful tranquil retreat during the winter.

“A perfect place to stay”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2015

Modern, spacious and the perfect place for what turned out to be a perfect holiday. The beach is just two minutes stroll away while 10 minutes in the other direction and you you are at restaurants and shops. 4 Point View had everything we needed. The open plan kitchen/sitting room area was wonderful and the en suite shower room in the main bedroom meant we were not troubled by the 'pesky' kids. It is in beautiful condition and the sitting area in the back garden is a great place to unwind in the sunshine. Really is difficult to find fault - in fact I can't. Will definitely be back.

“Lovely, well appointed flat close to the beach”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2014

We have just come back from a lovely stay in Croyde at 4 Point view. The flat is very well appointed, clean and has everything you could need for your stay. We had a toddler with us and felt the flat was fine for a youngster. Parking can be a little tight if you have a large car. The beacha nd village are close by. The beach is practically 50 yards to the left and a set of stairds takes you down to sea level. In summary we would stay here again.

“The perfect place in a perfect location!”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2014

A stunning apartment in Croyde, we had an amazing stay, perfect for a group of friends who fancy a get together. Great location within minutes from the beach and the thatch pub is a must for drinks and for lunch (the burger was great!) definitely recommend it to anyone.

“Fabulous apartment in a fantastic location”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2013

This is a fabulous apartment in a fantastic location approx. 50 yrds to the beach entrance. The apartment is modern, stylish, clean and very spacious and is well equipped with every requirement. Wooden floors throughout, flat screen TV's, beautiful bathrooms with lovely bright aspects. Everything in this apartment is quality from the décor, appliances, fitments to the luxury bedding. Quite frankly it doesn't come much better than this. I travelled with my wife and 12 year old son but found the apartment would be quite safe for young children i.e well secure. I would recommend and certainly will return. This is as good as it gets.
