This beautiful thatched Grade II listed cottage with its own private secure garden is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty adjacent to the acclaimed blue flag Putsborough/Woolacombe beach. There is a private footpath to the beach and use of a private tennis court, and wooden play center for the children in the lovely garden, parking for 2 cars. At Putsborough Manor we have two other luxurious cottages available (sleeping unto 8 people) more information, photos and offers available on our Putsborough Manor web site. Dogs are welcome (a small charge/restrictions apply please check).
Putsborough is surrounded by National Trust land with breathtaking views and numerous walks, including the South West Coastal Path. The popular surfing meccas of Croyde and Saunton Sands are very close by and within a few minutes drive, there is a path to Croyde approx 3/4 mile. Woolacombe is also close by, either a couple of minutes drive or a leisurely walk along the beach.
Locally facilities include excellent golf courses, horse riding, boat/fishing hire, clay pigeon shooting at the renowned South West Shooting Club, Lundy Island ferry trips from Ilfracombe, several adventure/children parks nearby, and National Trust properties to visit. The beautiful and dramatic landscape of Exmoor is also close by. The cottage is full of character with lots of original features like flagstone floors,beamed ceilings and woodburner. It has been very well equipped and fully refurbished is a country style which complements the character of the cottage. There is a large comfortable lounge with lovely aspects over the adjoining gardens and a dining area (TV and DVD player with Sky TV) the lounge has two large natuzzi leather sofas one of which is a sofa bed suitable for 1 person. A beautifully appointed kitchen with neff appliances and granite worktops and a great bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower are located downstairs.
Upstairs two cosy bedrooms overlooking the gardens. The gardens are peaceful and in a beautiful area, with children play area and use of a private tennis court, a bbq and sheltered seating area completes the picture and gives you a great place to holiday and chill out after a busy day on the beach a few hundred yards away.

“highly recommended...excellent accomodation”
This has to be one of the finest locations in North Devon-only a few minutes from Devon's best beach- and wonderful walks close by. Jon and Claire have a superb location here, made all the more special by their beautiful (dog friendly) cottages. Two great pubs with good food nearby. Cannot wait to visit again soon .

“Definitely had the wow factor”
We had a really lovely time, the cottage was beautiful and extremely peaceful. Very high standard for a Holiday let, from v comfy beds through to extensive utensils and crockery..everything was provided that you could need. The kids loved the hot tub....theyve never been so clean....Thank you for having us

Just enjoyed a great week at Putsborough Manor Cottage the weather was kind which contributed to relaxing time. The cottage is well equipped with everything you could need Putsborough beach is close to the cottage 10 minute walk, our two bulldogs enjoyed walking on the beach which is open to dogs all year Would recommend a trip to the Kings Arms at Georgeham, great food and very welcoming. Look forward to returning with friends with a view to staying in the new cottage which looks fabulous. Our thanks to Claire and John for a great holiday.

whilst weather was a little dissapointing, plenty to do with lovely walks & the fabulous beach just 5 mins walk through private field, plenty of reading material available including things to do & places to visit nearby, was very cosy watchiing a movie with the log burner going & really nice to sit in the peaceful garden & let the world pass you by. Felt really at home & very safe, also nice to have peace of mind that both Claire & John are there if you need them. A lovely cottage maintained to a high standard.

“Lovely Secluded Cottage”
A warm welcome when we arrived from Claire, who was there when needed and very helpful. Enjoyed the cottage despite the weather, I am sure the garden would be great on a proper summer evening along with the tennis court ! The cottage is warm and cosy, well equipped especially in the kitchen and bathroom. A parking space is located close by. The cottage is within 400 yards of the beach at Putsborough which has great sand, large, and ideal for young children. The walk around the headland to Croyde was lovely, great views and big skies. Very peaceful location but close to the amenities of Croyde village. It suits beach lovers and walkers alike. Good pubs in Geogeham half a mile away, The Rock, especially.

“Lovely cottage in beautiful, quiet and convenient location”
Clean and beautifully presented, cosy cottage, perfect for a holiday with our 2 year old. House had modern and good quality fittings yet retained all the charm you would expect. Quiet and private garden, secure for toddler and dog. Short walk over the fields to Putborough Beach, or short drive to Croyde and Saunton Sands. Loads to do in the area for families, places to eat and shopping also easily accessible. Owners very helpful and friendly. A very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

“Beautiful Thatched Cottage in a lovely location”
The cottage was perfect for us just a short walk from the beach at Putsborough where we were able to walk our dog in peace and there were plenty of other beaches nearby if ever we fancied a change. We have stopped in Woolacombe a few times previously but found it a lot more relaxing here. The cottage is well equipped with a lovely kitchen and cosy lounge with a log fire. It would be great to come back here in the summer and enjoy the gardens.

“Pretty cottage in lovely setting close to beach”
We had a lovely week staying at this pretty cottage. The cottage had everything we needed, including travel cot and high chair, and plenty of room for couple, baby and dog. The area is perfect for walks on the beach and cliff tops, and it is a short walk across a field to the beach. It would have been nice to have a view of the sea but the cottage is in a lovely setting with a garden and orchard, and our baby enjoyed watching the chickens potter around! The owners were friendly and helpful and we would visit again.

“Wonderful Location, Brilliant Cottage.”
We returned to this cottage after a long weekend earlier in the year. Very well equipt with all the home comforts. Lovely walk to the beach, not far but over hill which was no problem for me and the children. Typical chocolate box cottage with wood burner which the children loved, we stay in cottages every year in the UK and France and this has to be one of the best we have stayed in. Hope to be back again soon.

“Beautiful comfortable cosy cottage in the best location you could ask for.”
Had seven nights at Putsborough and we were very lucky with the weather, even managed a few games of tennis. Have stayed in Croyde in the past but found it busy and fancied something by our favorite beach ie Putsborough. It was a short walk through a field to get to the beach and we had a buggy to contend with... Local restaurants in nearby Georgeham were superb and the cottage owner suggested we "name drop" in order to get a good table which worked a treat. This was a real find for us as we have young children and they loved the freedom to wander around with no busy roads and loved the chickens (who gave us a few eggs..). I will definitely be booking up the same weeks again next year. Thanks for a great holiday!
