“Comfortable Cosy Charactor Lodge”

Reviewed 20 Jul 2016

We were pleasantly surprised of the location of this lovely detached lodge at the back of Freddy And Betty home, lovely warm inviting couple, we were made to feel very welcome. This Lodge is full of character with the high exposed beams in the ceiling, there are windows in the lodge one at the back of the bed and one to the right of the bed and a window in the kitchen area which gives plenty of light in the lodge, the bed was very comfortable with its fresh bedding, there is a large chest at the foot of the bed with exta pillows etc, it was lovely to wake up in the morning to the sunshine, you could see from the bed beautiful scenery and the cows grazing, the kitchen is small but had everything you need, In the village just a few minutes walk you have the Thatch pub restaurants, all meals we had were excellent, they also put on entertainment some evenings, we highly recommend the Thatch, this beautiful pub, its so full of charactor, it is quite big inside and quirky, the whole village of Croyde is so pretty. There is a post office and other shops in the village where you could buy freshly made Cornish pies, home made jam, cakes, gifts etc We will return to this lodge and we would recommend couples, there is a sofa bed in the conservatory that would be OK for small children. The Lodge is an ideal base for those who love to surf on those amazing waves, it is just a couple of minutes walk to the stunning beach.I have to say the drive up to Croyde is so beautiful with its stunning scenic sea views and gorgeous country side. Thanks to Freddy Betty who own this lovely lodge and made us feel at home
