Available for the first time this year Flat 1, Gordon House offers spacious and comfortable holiday accomodation within 300 yards of Cromer seafront. There are many ammenities within easy walking distance - Cromer Zoo, Tourist Information, Town Centre & Morrisons Supermarket not to mention several fish and chip shops and fresh fish shops. There is a parking space for one vehicle at the property and offered parking nearby. Gordon House is a period property built in the late 1800's and believed to be named after General Gordon of Khartoum.

Children of all ages are welcomed - please let us know if you require a travel cot or high chair.

Flat 1 has a parking space, shared with flat 2. It is on Meadow Road. The total length available for cars is 7.5m so that it will take two small cars, end to end.

The normal number of occupants requiring adult beds is up to 4. This number can rise to 5 or 6 but there is an extra charge £10 per person per night for use of the sofa bed. This extra charge does NOT apply to bookings of a week or more. I will revise the quote in these circumstances.

Cromer

Gordon House is in-between West Street and Meadow Road.

Along West Street, which is also the road to the town of Holt, is Morrison's Supermarket (400m), the railway station (600m), the Co-op supermarket (900m), and Lidl (1km).

On the opposite side of Meadow Road is an information centre and a car park. The charge depends on the number of hours spent, rising to £7 for 24hours. It is free 6pm to 8am. Further along is the Meadow with a pitch and putt golf course, a new skateboard facility, a play area with equipment for a range of ages and picnic tables. A walk of 1.5km takes you to the Cromer Zoo, Amazonia. Further still, a 4km walk from Gordon House is Felbrigg Hall, a NT property, with its park and gardens. A short walk into Cromer town takes you past shops of every description, including two more supermarkets near the church, Iceland and Budgens.

The 14th century church has the highest tower in Norfolk outside Norwich and is often open for climbing, up the spiral staircase inside! In the summer Cromer museum is worth a visit. Currently they are offering visits at 3pm to 4pm (closing) for £1. The most famous British lifeboatman lived in Cromer and there is a lifeboat museum down the "Gangway." The first pier in Britain is mentioned in 1392. The current pier is worth a visit for its Theatre, bar, restaurant and Lifeboat station.

Some golfers like to stay at the flat because it is only a 5 minute car ride to the Royal Cromer Golf course. There are others further away at Mundesley, Runton and Sheringham

“Large spacious flat”

Had everything we needed including a Christmas tree though a hairdryer would have been good. Ideally situated for great beach walks. Would guess that it might be a little noisy in the summer but fine in December. Lots of information from the owner. Might well visit again.

I stayed here with my 8 year old for 5 nights, and my husband joined us for 2 nights. The apartment was easy to find and centrally located, only a five minute walk to the beach and local supermarket. Parking is next to the apartment, and could easily fit a large 4x4 type car, or as we did, 2 mini size cars. The owner gave me all the information necessary to travel to and enter the appartment, along with contact numbers in case of any problems. A very nice welcome gift greeted us upon arrival and the apartment was clean, light and airy. The kitchen was well equipped, with plenty of fridge freezer space, microwave and the usual utensils. The oven was not working properly, but I reported this and could use the microwave instead, so it didn't bother us. There is a spacious bathroom with separate bath and shower, with good water pressure and space to dry clothes. Wi-fi is available, as is a good selection of dvds and books for children. The dining room and lounge areas and large and comfortable. The only gripe we had was the noise from a live band in a pub just along the road on a Friday night, and from the car park and social club adjacent to the apartment on a Saturday . This may be a problem if renters want an early night, or are light sleepers. However, my daughter slept peacefully throughout and all was quiet by midnight. I would most definitely rent this apartment again.
