“Perfect place for relaxation”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2014

We booked this holiday for my partners birthday, as he wanted a long weekend of nothing but relaxing and walks in the frewsh country air. We deffiantly got this! It is in a lovely location! Loads of nice fields around. We got a bit lost on the way their and Janet was very nice when I rang her to ask for directions! When we got their, she spent time with us telling us where the local village was and where there was big supermarkets. She had even put the heating on for us so it was warm when we arrived! The chalet itself is very small and cosy! both bedrooms are a good size and it has everything you need in it, the front room is very cosy with a nice fire in the middle. THe chalet itself is in Janets garden, but she does not bother you, you forget your even in the garden!! There is free wi fi in the cottage, and free view tv. There was not a dvd player when we went, but we took our own anyway just incase so was not a problem. Really enjoyed the stay and would deffinatly book again!!

“Perfect holiday stay!!!”

We absolutely loved staying on the farm, this chalet was perfect for myself, partner and 2 young children. We spent 6 days in the area, always had something to do and places to visit. The chalet itself was wonderful and perfect for what we needed! Beautiful surroundings and our hosts were friendly and welcoming! 10/10 and we're looking forward for returning next year for our honeymoon, which we booked within a day of being there! Fantastic value for money too! Completely wonderful! Would recommend to anybody!!

“Excellent value, friendly people, and a perfect base for exploring”

Reviewed 9 May 2013

The chalet was clean, well equipped and an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside. We loved staying near a real working farm, and the views of the fields were stunning. The chalet itself was larger than we needed for the two of us, and would be an ideal place to stay with kids. We visited Cromford, Matlock and the Crich Tramway Museum. The walk into Crich to the nearby pubs, café/tearooms and Indian restaurant was just the right distance, and we were surprised at how little we needed the car during our stay. Janet was really friendly and helpful, and we will be coming back soon.

“Great value for money!!!!”

The chalet is in an excellent location, owner very friendly and helpfull, the chalet was warm and well equipped was a little apprehensive given the few earlier reviews but it was great no complaints. Would definitely recommend and hoping to come back in the summer. Thanks Janet

“Lovely and cosy with friendly welcome”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2013

We stayed in December, the house was lovely and warm. It had everything we needed with a lovely view out across fields. I can imagine it being really lovely in the summer with all the animals and a great open space infront for the kids. We were given a lovely friendly welcome by the owners and Billy the dog!!

“Dissapointed”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2012

The property was advertised as being suitable for (1) people with limited mobility. I have severe arthritis and COPD (2) Pets It was niether, we arrived on Friday 9th and were told that we had to park up the lane as the owners son needed to park near his house which was next door.and we had to walk through mud and slurry to get to and from our car. On Saturday evening they lit a bonfire and set off fireworks which had our little dog petrified We were unable to take a shower because the bath was very insecure and moved when I stepped in and the wash basin was not fixed to the wall properly!!!!!

“Beautiful surroundings fantastic hosts”

“Well equiped cottage on diary farm owned by friendly helpful owner”

Reviewed 7 Sep 2012

We found this place by accident around 6 years ago and have been back every year since . Why? There is the comfy well equiped cottage with owners that are friendly and very helpful. There's the cows in the field just over the fence that you can watch give birth depending on the time of year. There's the beautiful countryside and safe walking and cycleways. There's the stately homes like Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall if that's your thing. So if you want a holiday where you can go walking, sightseeing, shopping or just wile away the time visiting picturesque villages and tea shops Derbyshire is for you. Things I didn't like...not many though some roads the sat nav tends to find are a bit narrow.

“Exactly what we were looking for”

Situated in a lovely quiet location on a farm but near to all the attractions. The chalet had everything we needed. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definately stay here again

“A relaxing place to stay, but with plenty to do nearby”

We enjoyed Westfields so much we came back the following year. There is plenty to keep everyone occupied nearby, and the property is central to many attractions. The owners are very friendly and advised us of places to visit in the area. Highly recommend
