Location description from owner

The North Wales region

Snowdonia is a wonderful area to explore as it has many different activities from climbing fishing, golf, horse riding, walking, especially water sports like boating, yachting surfing and swimming. We offer slate mines, gold mines, Portmeirion village (Italianate village) splendid waterfalls narrow gauge railways, mountains, dry ski slopes, castles to explore in Criccieth.Come for a rest or take an active holiday you choose. Harlech and Caernarvon where the investiture of the Prince of Wales took place.Lloyd George hails from Criccieth as well. .The Isle of Anglesey boasts its connection to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who lived on the lovely island and this is approx 22 miles away. You can take a day trip to Ireland on the Ferry and visit Dublin. We are lucky with the climate as we are on the warm gulf stream hence the plants in our gardens. Nantyfelin also boasts of having had the landed gentry as the original owners and inhabitants in 1900.

Criccieth

Criccieth is an unspoilt village with a castle guarding the 2 blue flag beaches beaches of Cardigan Bay.You can swim in the clear sea and the children like to fish in the pools left b y the sea.. There is miniature golf to play, wonderful homemade ice cream from the local Cadwaladers shop, a great fish and chip shop and some of the the best restaurants in the area.We have a festival of music, song drama and dance in June and twice a year in May and June we have a fair day to mark the hiring fairs of yesteryear.Take a trip up Snowdon on a narrow gauge railway,go down the mines on a similar train and visit one of the many beautiful beaches we have in the area Criccieth has also won many awards for the flowers displays we have in the village .There are 8 golf courses within a 20 mile radius of Nantyfelin.

“Awesome views, spacious apartment, friendly owners”

Reviewed 19 Apr 2016

Would most certainly stay here again. Great location close to the high street and beach. Criccieth is a must place to visit, where the coast and the mountains of snowdonia are equally accessible. Ideal for families and dog walkers alike.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your kind review of Nantyfelin cottages and also beautiful Criccieth. So much to do here and we are in the middle of it all if you want tobe or in the gardens if you prefer peace and quiet. Lovely to have met you and your family again after all these years. Many thanks for staying. Regards Rich and Ann

“Fantastic Place”

Reviewed 5 May 2015

Group of 6 adults, 1 baby & 2 dogs staying for a long weekend and this place was perfect - a great house, with plenty of room (we couldn't believe how big it was!) and fantastic views. Property is very well maintained and has everything you could need. Ann was wonderful, couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend to anyone.

Owner's reply: That is a lovely review and many thanks for being so kind. We loved having you stay here with us at Nantyfelin and hope you will return one day for a longer stay. Kind regards Rich and Ann

“Fabulous”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2014

Stayed in the main house on the ground floor accommodation with my partner, elderly father and 2 dogs at end of September. Accommodation was very grand, beautifully kept and clean with fantastic views of the sea and Ann the owner was very helpful and on hand nearby if we needed anything. This property is set in a great location, Criccieth is lovely with great amenities and from which is easy to access and explore the beautiful area of Snowdonia and North Wales - would definately stay here again. Many thanks.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for this lovely review, we enjoyed having you stay and hope that you come back again soon. Views will always be here for you !! regards Ann and Rich

“Grand house in a lovely setting”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2014

We stayed for a week in this large apartment. The rooms are spacious and bedrooms and lounge have views of the mountains, sea and the castle - wonderful. Only reason for not giving this place 5/5 was the slightly dated shower room and bath room, but don't let that put you off from staying here. The apartment is perfectly set, just a minute or two walk from the beach and shops and restaurant. We had a warm welcome from the owner and she was on hand if we had any questions or queries. Thank you Ann for making our stay a great one and making the boys feel very welcome.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind review. It was a real pleasure to have you and your lovely boys staying with us,hope we see you again one day. Many thanks Richard and Ann
