Portnellan House has a magnificent setting with a true Highland landscape all around. Often complimented by the abundance of bird and wild life that can be seen. It is not unusual to see the deer meandering off the hill and passing nearby the house and into the mature private gardens​.

Having undergone a recent refurbishment Portnellan House is tastefully presented without losing the character of a Victorian property.

There is a large drawing room with an open fire and seated large bay window looking over the mature gardens. Leading from the drawing room is a West facing conservatory. A fully equipped and newly fitted Charles Rennie MacKintosh country style kitchen with all modern appliances, a snug room with SKY HD package, Blu Ray DVD and a dining room with table that can seat up to 10 people with an open fire and its own private bar.

The property boasts the highest quality fixtures, fittings and soft furnishings and comes fully equipped with Egyptian cotton bed linen, soft white towels, bathrobes, slippers and Arran Aromatic toiletries. The property is fully centrally heated and is inclusive of all power and oil consumption. Unlimited WiFi is also included as well as the use of a BBQ, HD SKY TV package and SONOS music entertainment system (SONOS kitchen only).

Fitted and equipped to the highest of standards the house benefits from new carpets and soft furnishings, heated flooring, central heating, LED lighting and complete interior redecoration. The kitchen is hand built in Oak and finished in a Charles Rennie MacKintosh style with all modern conveniences including washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, twin ovens, large ceramic hob, fridge and freezer. All Royal Doulton crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are supplied. A newly installed pressurised hot water system supplies plenty of hot water. There are beautiful fully tiled bathrooms with heated floors, large baths and power showers.

The Portnellan Estate where the house is situated has been privately owned by the same family for well over 30 years and offers fantastic facilities to include fresh run salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, mountain bikes with plenty of trails on and off road for all abilities. Canoes and rowing boats on the river and loch. Clay pigeon shooting can also be arranged. Unlimited Wifi is available throughout the house as well as BBQ hire, DVD library and a large selection of board games. We can even offer eggs from the chickens on the estate and a selection of organic meat products fresh from a farm locally. Perfect for the BBQ or home cooking.

Portnellan House is so centrally located for exploring Central/West Scotland with known landmarks only a short distance away. Oban 45 mins, Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow just over an hour. Edinburgh 1.5 hours. Glen Coe and all it beholds is less than 40 mins drive and the bonnie shores of Loch Lomond are 20 mins by car. Other areas include the truly beautiful Glen Lyon and Loch Tay, Glen Etive, Glen Lochay and Glen Orchy all within the local area.

Very mountainous with deep lochs and steep glens with easy access to the stunning and picturesque Central Highlands and West Coast of Scotland.
