The abbey was founded in 1313 AD and is the mother house of the Olivetan Order of Benedictines. The Abbot responsible for the whole Order still resides here. The abbey contains important Renaissance masterpieces such as the cycle of frescoes by Luca Signorelli and Sodoma (early 16th century) depicting the life of Saint Benedict.
RAPOLANO TERME. Approx. 20 minutes away.

A few minutes drive from Pienza, you will find the Monastery of Sant'Anna in Camprena, where Anthony Minghella shot many scenes of his movie “The English Patient”.
SAN QUIRICO D'ORCIA. Approx. 1 hour away.
One of the better preserved fortified villages in the Siena province.
Just a few minutes away, you will find Bagno Vignoni with its spa, where Andrej Tarkovskij shot “Nostalghia”.
MONTEPULCIANO. Approx. 1 hour 30 minutes from the farm.
This town is famous for its Vino Nobile, its old cellars and for “Twilight – New Moon”!
RADICOFANI. Approx. 1 hour 30 minutes away.
