The Scotland region

Wigtown Bay has a beautiful coastline surrounded on one side by the Galloway Hills. This gives such a variety of contrasting views and terrains from shoreline and beaches to woodland, green fields and the hills. There is a feeling of being undiscovered - a well kept secret!Opposite Kirkbride, across the bay is Wigtown, which holds a Book Festival every September, having a number of fantastic book shops - hence it being known as the 'Book Town'.We are spoiled with the numerous gardens and plant nurseries in the area - such as Logan Botanical Gardens, Glenwhan and Threave.Walkfest happens in May each year and encourages groups of walkers of all abilities to explore the surrounding countryside.
