In recent year's it has blossomed into a vibrant centre with many independent stores and excellent eateries. Throughout the area there are many beautiful walks, including the climb to the top of Leith Hill- the highest point in South East England, flat easy walking along the 20 mile towpath of the River Wey and the spectacular scenery of the North Downs Way.Many other beautiful villages are close by including Shere, famed for its ancient church (used for the snowy wedding scene in the film 'Bridget Jones'), beautiful village houses and shops and at its heart the country pub 'The White Horse' (used in the film, 'The Holiday')The major shopping centres of Guildford (8m) and Horsham(14m) provide every major store and restaurant you could wish for.
