The Fife region
Historic East Neuk of Fife, in the Kingdom of Fife. Unique looking part of Scotland, largely due to medieval trading links with Holland which partly account for the style of buildings with their red pan tiled roofs, and the harbours, with massive stone slabs. This part of Scotland enjoys less rain than the West Coast of the country.
Beautiful beaches, quaintl fishing villages, lovely rolling countryside inland, and golf courses aplenty. This is big sky country and its full of history.
Great territory for walkers, golfers, birdwatchers, watersports enthusiasts, cyclists and motorcyclists, artists and anyone who likes a bit of history.
The East Neuk is a small area of coastal Fife running from Earlsferry to just north of Crail. It comprises various fishing villages and towns with their historic harbours and buildings, for example Elie, St Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther and Crail.
There are many fine beaches and quaint villages with winding streets and homes hundreds of years old. Most of the towns hold high quality Arts festivals during the summer months together with food festivals. There is a lively music scene in Anstruther (and Crail).
The Isle of May can be visited by boat from Anstruther. It is a bird sanctuary with colonies of seals around it.

"Great House in Lovely Village"
We had a very good holiday in Casa Gisella extremely comfortable house cosy with plenty of room, well equipped everything spotless. Owen was a pleasure to correspond with he even made sure as the house hadn't been occupied for a short time the heating was turned up. As the house is on the main street its just a short walk to the shops. The surrounding area is well worth a visit. The Fish and chip shop in Crail is very good
