Description

Railway Crossing Cottage is a charming detached stone cottage, originally a crossing keeper's cottage on the now disused Anstruther to St. Andrews Railway. It is located in tranquill countryside 2 miles from the villages of Crail and Anstruther and It has recently been beautifully and sensitively restored and extended, providing a cosy and warm holiday retreat for family and friends. There are distant views to The Firth of Forth and The Isle of May.

There are 2 bedrooms at the property, a double room and a twin/double room, and a lovely characterful open plan sitting room and kitchen/dining area. The sitting area has a cosy wood burning stove, wooden flooring & comfy leather sofas. There is a private hot tub on the decking area with wonderful views to the surrounding countryside.

The garden is mainly laid to lawn and is secure and fully fenced. There is a second sun terrace with wooden outside table and chairs, sun parasol and barbeque. There is ample parking for

This beautiful stone detached cottage is a perfect location for exploring the quaint fishing villages of The East Neuk, the historic town of St. Andrews and the scenic coastline of Fife. The nearby villages of Crail and Anstruther are wonderful for exploring, with their picturesque harbours, great shopping, delightful pubs/restaurants and tourist attractions. Boat trips from Anstruther to The Isle of May are most popular.

Nearby is the lovely village of Pittenweem with it's unique Art Festival, just 5 miles along the coast. The famous town of St. Andrews is but a short drive away, with it's gorgeous beaches, historic buildings and it's world renowned golf courses. Nearby are the beautiful National Trust properties of Kellie Castle & Gardens and The Hill of Tarvit Mansion House. Wemyss Pottery and Scotland's Secret Bunker are both only a 10-15 minute drive.

Crail

Take time to explore the beautiful coastline, either on a scenic drive through all the fishing villages, or why not try the Fife Coastal Walking Path. Treat yourself at the famous Anstruther Fish Bar, or why not take a day trip by boat to the Isle of May to see puffins, seals and numerous other sea birds. How about a day out at the beach at the West Sands at St. Andrews and recreate your own Chariots of Fire experience. Take the children to The Aquarium at St. Andrews for a fun day out or visit The Scottish Deer Centre. So much to see and enjoy for all your friends and family.
