Description from owner

The Owner's Cottage looks up Loch Linnhe to Ben Nevis and all the mountains from Glencoe to Cruachan. It was built in 1989 in the traditional Scots vernacular "but and ben" style. On the ground floor, hall, bathroom, spacious double bedroom, and large open plan kitchen/dining/living room with multifuel stove and sofa bed.

Upstairs, reached by a ladder/staircase, two twin rooms, where the beds can be put together to make doubles if you wish. Gas CH, gas cooker, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. Music centre, wi-fi. Outside, a patio where you can enjoy the stunning view and listen to the sea and the birds.

The Hebrides region

Mull claims to be the most beautiful island in the world, with a long, enchanting coastline. Walk from us along the beach to Duart Castle, twelfth century home of the Clan Maclean, loyal supporters of Bonnie Prince Charlie. The holy island of Iona is where St. Columba brought Christianity to Scotland in the fifth century. From there you can visit Staffa, home of puffins, and inspiration for Mendelssohn’s overture Fingal’s Cave. The picturesque village of Tobermory featured in the BBC's children's TV series Balamory. The wildlife throughout the island is sensational.

Reception has details of things to do and see, and you can stroll to the Tourist Information Centre near the ferry.

Behind us, the Hill of the Two Winds is a fine ridge with stunning views, or climb Ben More, Mull's Munro.

Wildlife tours start from near us, including the white tailed sea eagle, or go whale watching from Tobermory.

A trip to Iona and Staffa, or to the beaches of Calgary and Lochbuie are unforgettable.

Just beside us is the Craignure Inn, with a warm welcome and excellent food. Or try Arlene's Coffee House,

excellent and friendly. You'll find more good eating places all over Mull, and you can buy local produce for yourself, such as mussels from Inverlussa.

Very Good

“Lovely cottage”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2013

I stayed at the Owners Cottage for new year 2012/2013 with 5 friends. The accomodation was really nice. Spacious and clean and the staff were friendly. The living room is large and has an open fire - which kept the boys entertained! We were able to get more coal and wood by just asking at reception, which we greatly appreciated. WiFi is available which was a bonus. There is a good sized double bedroom on the ground floor, pull out double sofa in the lounge and two twin rooms in the attic space. It is easy walking distance from the ferry from Oban and the local restaurant and pub. Great for walks along the beach or through the forest. Would stay there again.
