It's a lovely 20 minute stroll if you do fancy it by foot passed lamas, sheep and great for tiring out the kids and the dogs. Bring wellies in wetter months. We are a bit different to other holiday lets as we like to do things a little bit more personally. I'm Liz and I run the barn. I am a mum of 4, with a love of baking cakes and enjoying the outdoors and so happy to do anything to make your stay just perfect including baking a birthday if you are coming away for a celebration, set up a toy corner for your kids and suggest some family day trips out, take the dog out when I go walking mine if you need a trip out for the day but don't want the dog to sit in the car all day. You let me know and I'll do my best to make this your treat. We also like you to feel at home and so are well stocked with the pantry bits and bobs you'd expect from flour, oils, to salt and pepper, dishwasher tablets, loo rolls, foil, tea, coffee, sugars etc etc. So don't go mad on the shopping and packing before you come. We have just installed a hot tub too in the barn so you can relax and enjoy the evenings whatever the weather in your own heated sanctuary.

“We didn't want to leave!”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2016

We stayed at Coiners Barn a week ago to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday - and it was definitely the right place to book. The cottage was gorgeous, with a lovely open living space that, because it is over split levels, still maintains the cosy 'lounge' feel, or the separate 'dining and kitchen' area. A travel cot was provided for us in one of the bedrooms which was really useful. And having a hot tub was heavenly....especially a hot tub that has such a phenomenal view. The view from the barn, is amazing. Absolutely stunning. You could properly stop thinking about your day to day woes and feel at peace. Liz is the best host we've ever dealt with - the barn was decorated for my brother's birthday, and there was a yummy cake waiting for him. She was so helpful with any of our questions or requests - we couldn't have asked for more. One thing to be aware of, which Liz does highlight in the description, is that you really can't get down the track to the property unless you have a 4 x 4. Its very uneven for driving - but that is part of the charm as you know that you really are away from it all. It took us about 30 mins to walk from the private car park to the cottage, with a baby on our back in hot weather (so it would be possible to do it more quickly if you wanted), its a relatively easy walk and there are animals to see on the way. When you arrive and leave, Liz will collect you and your luggage so you don't need to worry about having to carry everything. The bonus of this property, is that although it is remote and up in the hills, actually you aren't that far from civilisation. After the walk to the car, you can get to Mythenroyd or Hebden Bridge in 10 - 20 minutes, so its easy to go to the supermarket or a pub etc Also it may be useful for you to know - alongside the wifi in the cottage, we had great 4G signal on vodaphone, which was totally unexpected! Finally, i just want to say a massive thank you to Liz and her family - we had a great holiday and I came away inspired to find a home that is in such a beautiful setting. Don't hesitate...book Coiner's Barn!

“just a superb relaxing beautiful place”

Myself and two friends stayed here for three nights and its is stunning. beautifully decorated and the family that run it are friendly caring and just very nice people. we ordered the breakfast and the dinners and they were real homemade good food and we had a choice. if you want peace and seclusion and five star comfort and food then look no further. The wildlife is a treat and twitchers will love it even more. Red starts and Skylarks!
