“Birthday group getaway”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2016

We had a fantastic time, the barn was warm and cosy, and had been decorated with birthday banners and cake made for birthday girl. Barn was isolated at the top of a hill but we liked the privacy and a lovely walk through the fields to get to the pub. Use of little jeep very handy for trips to the car park, owners live next door and happy to help with anything. Hot tub fantastic even late at night! Beds extremely comfortable, and bonus that each room has ensuite! We are booking to go back again next year.

Owner's reply: Liz, Thank you for such kind words. You were wonderful guests and a pleasure to have stay with us. You'll be more than welcome back. Thanks Liz

“We didn't want to leave!”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2016

We stayed at Coiners Barn a week ago to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday - and it was definitely the right place to book. The cottage was gorgeous, with a lovely open living space that, because it is over split levels, still maintains the cosy 'lounge' feel, or the separate 'dining and kitchen' area. A travel cot was provided for us in one of the bedrooms which was really useful. And having a hot tub was heavenly....especially a hot tub that has such a phenomenal view. The view from the barn, is amazing. Absolutely stunning. You could properly stop thinking about your day to day woes and feel at peace. Liz is the best host we've ever dealt with - the barn was decorated for my brother's birthday, and there was a yummy cake waiting for him. She was so helpful with any of our questions or requests - we couldn't have asked for more. One thing to be aware of, which Liz does highlight in the description, is that you really can't get down the track to the property unless you have a 4 x 4. Its very uneven for driving - but that is part of the charm as you know that you really are away from it all. It took us about 30 mins to walk from the private car park to the cottage, with a baby on our back in hot weather (so it would be possible to do it more quickly if you wanted), its a relatively easy walk and there are animals to see on the way. When you arrive and leave, Liz will collect you and your luggage so you don't need to worry about having to carry everything. The bonus of this property, is that although it is remote and up in the hills, actually you aren't that far from civilisation. After the walk to the car, you can get to Mythenroyd or Hebden Bridge in 10 - 20 minutes, so its easy to go to the supermarket or a pub etc Also it may be useful for you to know - alongside the wifi in the cottage, we had great 4G signal on vodaphone, which was totally unexpected! Finally, i just want to say a massive thank you to Liz and her family - we had a great holiday and I came away inspired to find a home that is in such a beautiful setting. Don't Coiner's Barn!

“just a superb relaxing beautiful place”

Myself and two friends stayed here for three nights and its is stunning. beautifully decorated and the family that run it are friendly caring and just very nice people. we ordered the breakfast and the dinners and they were real homemade good food and we had a choice. if you want peace and seclusion and five star comfort and food then look no further. The wildlife is a treat and twitchers will love it even more. Red starts and Skylarks!
