The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is a great place to visit. In some ways time has stood still, with Osbourne House, Carisbrooke Castle and many other timeless attractions. On the other hand, it's where the worlds yachtsmen and women come to compete against the very best, whilst pitting themselves against the complex tides and winds of the Solent (not forgetting to party hard and long afterwards!) for some of the top cups in the world.
However, the Isle Of Wight is not just about sailing. The chance to walk on high cliffs in both sun and storm toss'd sea before you, may make the visit worthwhile for you. The wealth of really good quality restaurants and convivial pubs may also make you feel at home. This is a destination for any time of year, be it a family break, or an oasis of peace. Wight Cottage can give you all of this.
Cowes is a wonderful town and has many moods. Cowes Week, Little Britain and the Red Funnel event at Easter are the headline events, though there are many other sailing regattas from March to September each year.
But Cowes is more than that. It is very much the live connection to the whole Island, a base from which the whole Island can be explored and enjoyed, from Ventnor and St Catherines Point, to Bembridge, to the Needles. The Island is a place of contrast. Enjoy it all from your central base in Cowes!
Cowes itself has a wide range of cafes, pubs and restaurants, to suit every taste and budget. There are excellent food and hostelry outlets, from traditional pubs to Indian, Chinese, Italian, or even take a river taxi in the summer to the Folley Inn on the Medina River near Whippingham, for a great night out, for possibly the best steaks on the IOW!

"Exceeded our expectations"
Very well equipped house well situated near the centre of West Cowes. Garden well laid out for barbecue dinners.

Great location, and the cottage has a good layout, which has been clearly thought about to help visitors feel comfortable during their stay. It's lovely to have use of the garden area, which was lovely and quite. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. I would recommend highly to visitors to the IOW.

"Fabulous house - home from home plus great location"
We spent a week at Wight Cottage and it was superb - very good amenities, spacious and felt very homely. It is also in a super location - easy walk into Cowes and to drive into Newport is very quick and easy. Will definitely be staying again.

We stayed at Wight Cottage, a party of 6 adults & there was everything we could have imagined we'd need. Welcome pack was a really lovely touch and very 'welcome' ! Cottage exactly as per the photos, extremely comfortable, immaculately clean with all mod cons. Very convenient for the centre of town. Highly recommended.

"Everything you need in a holiday home"
Stayed for a weekend and was really impressed. The house was spotless and extremely well equipped. The owners have clearly tried to think of everything visitors will need- particularly in the kitchen. Every time we thought "I wonder if there is a...." the answer always seemed to be "yes". We had great weather so never used the lovely dining room as the dining area in the garden was so nice. Location-wise it is perfect. It is in a nice quiet road yet 5 minute walk to Cowes town centre. We are already planning the next weekend.
Many thanks Sharon for kind remarks and hope you will stay again in the future, many thanks Tracy and André
