Due to the cottages desirable central location, street parking directly outside the property is not available, however free on street parking is available nearby, or alternatively there is a pay and display car park (free overnight) very close by.

The cottage is perfectly located less than a minutes stroll off the main high street of West Cowes, ideally placed for the numerous boutique shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes that are on offer, and of course is also perfect for access to the waterfront, the various yacht clubs and yacht harbours, Redjet passenger ferry, and East Cowes via the chain bridge for the Red Funnel car ferry to Southampton.

Cowes is lively and has a nautical buzz most of the year round with numerous regattas (the world famous Cowes week for one) but there are many other events, festivals and activities not just for sailors, including music events, various cultural festivals and the food scene. Nearby are two supermarkets (Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencer foodhall), an independant butcher, baker, fishmonger and a deli, and just a 5 minute drive/10 minute walk away across the chain ferry, a large new Waitrose.

The Island as a whole has many all year round events and festvals including music (Isle of Wight festival/Bestival) arts, crafts, motoring, cycling, camping, campervaning, caravaning, scooters and food etc, all within easy striking distance. Regular local buses and taxi ranks are very close by - and dont forget to hire or bring your bicycle and walking boots so you can explore the lovely Islands roads, cycle paths, byways, countryside and coastal paths with their stunning scenery!

“Homely little cottage in the heart of Cowes”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2016

A beautiful little cottage right in the heart of Cowes, within easy walking distance to all shops, pubs and resteraunts. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable accommodation. The only drawback is the parking which, unless you are prepared to pay, you need to park at the top of the road up a very steep hill, which is fine except when you are carrying heavy suitcases upon arrival. There is also quite a lot of street noise , which is a shame as otherwise this is the perfect property for a relaxing stay on the Isle of Wight.

Many thanks for the review and comments. To clarify the parking, the small public pay and display car park almost directly opposite (not as bad as it sounds!) is free of charge between the hours of 6pm and 8am, and in terms of unloading on arrival there is an area directly opposite the front door where you can pull in and unload, then park the car afterwards (as another reviewer has mentiond). In terms of street noise the property is located close to the town centre and during peak holiday seasons there can of course be related noise, however the property is double glazed, and having lived there myself, didnt find it intrusive - in lower seasons the place can be very quiet indeed!
