Location description from owner

The England region

The beautiful Isle of Wight, situated just off England's south coast and only 2 hours from London lays claim to being the sunniest county in the UK and has some absolutely stunning scenery - from the miles of golden beaches to the south of the island; the rugged, jurassic cliffs to the west of the island and the rolling, green hills and forests in the centre.
Famous for its annual Round the Island yacht race which takes place in June and Cowes Week the world's biggest sailing regatta held every year in August, the Isle of Wight is also rapidly gaining a reputation for hosting some of the best music festivals in the world, including the Isle of Wight Festival in June and Bestival in September.
In addition the island's mild climate provides perfect growing conditions for garlic, making it one of Europe's largest producers; whilst there are a number of vineyards and orchards producing English wines, ciders and fruit juices. Isle of Wight Lavender is a National Collection holder for Lavendula with over 230 cultivars of Lavender and is a traditional distiller and blender of fine English fragrances.
Finally, the island is proud to boast an increasing number of fine restaurants and places to eat, from the Hamborough; Pond Cafe and The Royal Hotel in Ventnor; the George Hotel in Yarmouth; to The Coast Bar, Mojacs, Brawns and MooCow in Cowes.

Cowes

Cowes is widely credited as being the birthplace of UK yachting, seeing hundreds of 'yachties' descend every year on the seaside town and swelling it's resident population multifold.
With a wealth of activities on and off the water and a year-round mild, sunny climate the island attracts loyal visitors and second home owners alike all year round but especially during the spring and summer months when the world class sailing conditions attract professional sailors from around the world to take part in famous regattas and races - as well as thousands of spectators who gather shoreside to watch the dramas unfold.
Easily reached by high speed passenger ferry, car ferry or even hovercraft (the island has the last remaining hovercraft service in the world) from Lymington, Southampton or Portsmouth on the mainland, the island is the perfect destination for young and old alike with plenty to see, eat and do.
