For any keen cyclist, the Tour is an essential date in the diary. Why not come and see it in the flesh while staying at the Owls.

As you can imagine, if you like beaches, walking or sightseeing holidays or interested in historical landmarks or cultural and sporting events, we have it all.

Coutances

The beautiful Cathedral town of Coutances inspired us to retire to this area and we're sure that once you visit the town, you'll understand why. Damaged in 1944 during the Second World War, there are numerous places of interest worth visiting all year round. Just off the main square is a lovely park boasting a great variety of trees, shrubs and flowers. In spring the town is alive with the annual international Jazz Festival with concerts in the theatre, covered market, many bars and other sites around the town. Sporting facilities include tennis courts, a swimming pool, an ice rink and a ten pin bowling alley. While Coutances offers a variety of activities, the hamlet of Servigny has a famous boulangerie that bakes bread and croissants in a traditional wood burning stove. The hamlet is ideal for short walks in the peaceful countryside.

The surrounding area offers a variety of attractions, some of which are listed below:

Local Chateaux: The picturesque Chateau Grato is ideal for a lunch time picnic and a wonderful way to discover medieval ruins. Chateau Pirou adds another destination to your local tour

Beaches: All along the Normandy coastline, beautiful sandy beaches are ever prominent. Infamous through War, they are also a hidden treasure of beauty. Whether you are basking in the sun, taking a dip, or just out for a stroll, there are countless unspoilt beaches to explore. There are so many sites of interest for you to discover and visit and we want you to have all the information possible, but as you can imagine, there’s just so much to do and see, half the fun is discovering these places for yourselves.
