“View, Convenience, Well appointed, Spectacular!”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2015

This was our first trip in Paris. Wow! What a great experience we had, thanks largely in part to this apartment. The views from this 15th floor apartment are unbeatable, especially at night. Make sure to watch the Eiffel Tower nightly at the top of every hour. Because there is so much to see and do in Paris, we only spent the nights and early mornings in the apartment. The apartment has everything you need. A great kitchen, great bathroom, wi-if, TV (we never turned on) and enough sleeping for four adults (two couples). Jacqueline is a great host. She made sure we had and understood directions to get there, transportation instructions, things to see and do instructions, etc. She was a great resource and very helpful. We plan on returning to Paris in the future and we will return to this apartment. Happy in Paris,

Owner's reply: Thank you for your great review. We hope to see you again in the future. The best, Jacqueline

My twenty-two year old son and I stayed here for a week in November. He used the sofa bed in the living room and said it was excellent. The bathroom is clean, and spacious. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the view while preparing meals is spectacular. I kept wishing for floor to ceiling windows! The location is both a plus and a minus. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the metro line which takes you straight to the heart of Parisian sightseeing. The time on the metro to the Louvre, for example, is about 20+ minutes. The actual neighborhood of La Defense was previously unknown to me; it is the designated business and high-rise location in Paris. The skyscrapers are quite striking, and beautiful in their way. It took a couple of days for us to really know the walk from the metro to the apartment. I found it easy to get confused at first, until we began using the Mercure Hotel as our landmark. The Mercure is essentially right next door, and super convenient when we needed to go to Charles de Gaulle airport. There's usually a cab waiting in front of the hotel, so if you are loaded with baggage, it's a great option. The cost of the ride to the airport was a little less expensive than staying in central Paris, about 35-40 euros. You don't get a sense at all of what Courbevoie was in the past. A few older buildings are still standing (on our route from the apartment to metro) but most have been torn down. On the ground floor of the apartment building is a shopping area, with everything you need day to day. The boulangerie, Paul, the wine shop, Nicolas, a very large grocery, shoe repair, several restaurants including one Chinese/Vietnamese which we tried for take-out, clothing stores, bank, etc. are in the very same building. If you are staying here for the first time, and do not know the area, do try to arrive during the day. Use the Mercure as your landmark. We were loaded with luggage from a two month stay including tennis tournaments, and arrived around 8:30-9 in the evening. Our TGV from Avignon was stopped for two hours on the tracks,so we were late getting to the apartment. Thank goodness for a cell-phone; even so, getting into the building was a hassle after traveling all day. If you are looking for a very quiet (you can open the windows and it is still peaceful!), comfortable, and reasonably priced rental, this one is great. We had no problem at all with our deposit being returned, and our hosts were kind enough to let us stay later on the day of our departure than usual.

“The perfect place to stay in Paris”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2012

I booked this apartment at the last minute, and am so very glad I did. It was perfect! A truly comfortable, quality, chic apartment with the most incredible views over the whole of Paris - amazing by day and absolutely stunning by night with the Eiffel Tower lit up and dominating the sparkling city. Jacqueline was charming and helpful. Everything in the apartment was good quality and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the large windows which ran the length of the apartment made it bright and sunny. On the ground floor there is everything you could need - a shopping mall with a good selection of restaurants and cafes, Carrefour supermarket, bowling alley, swimming pool and ice skating rink. The apartment was in a pleasant, quiet neighbourhood, not overrun with tourists and crowds, and with good transport links. The building is secure, and the surrounding gardens delightful. I can't think of a better place to stay in Paris and will definitely be back.

This apartment is perfect, there is no better choice! Everything is very clean, bright and has magnificent views and a panorama that can be easily compared with a visit to the Eiffel Tower and Paris. In the evenings we were so tired that we liked to study Paris sitting with a glass of wine at home ... We also liked the district of La Defense - pure, noble, elegant and modern. A shopping center is on the ground floor of the building. Another very nice shopping center in the area is “The Quatre Temps” with shops, cafes, restaurants, the merry-go-round and other games for children. The building’s area has ideal transport links: Metro, RER, train, tramway, buses, taxis, allowing quick access to any destination: Versailles, Disneyland, any place in the center of Paris. Also the building has a convenient parking. Jacqueline, the owner helped us all the time before our trip, answered all our questions, met our requests. Everything went well and exactly as we wanted it to be. This Beautiful apartment was part of our successful journey to Paris!!! Dasha and family

I was traveling to Paris for the first time in Seotember 2011. Quite an adventure. I knew that I wanted to have a home-like environment during my stay. The apartment at Les Gemeaux in La Defense was just that. Charming, beautiful, clean and comfortable, with the most amazing 15th floor views of Paris---the Eiffel Tower, sparkling at night, the enchanting hills and Sacre Coeur cathedral of Montmartre etched on the distant horizon. I felt completely safe while staying at Les Gemeaux! The owners were helpful and friendly. The metro was just a short walk from the apartment and there were many shops, cafes and a supermarket next door to the apartment. It was very hard to leave the beauty of Paris and the delight of the apartment at Les Gemeaux. I would go back and stay forever in a heart beat! Bon voyage! You have made the perfect choice of accomodations in Paris.

“Fabulous apartment”

Lovely quiet modern one bedroom apartment that sleeps 4 (2 in large double bed in bedroom and 2 in large sofa bed in living room). Fantastic views of Paris from the 15th floor! Very friendly and helpful apartment owner (thanks again to Jacqueline for saving the day with the Eurodisney ticket!). Free wifi and free telephone calls back to the UK. Swimming pool and supermarket and excellent reasonable cost restuarants in the complex below the flats. Easy reach of central Paris from La Defense after coffee in the view of the Grande Arche. We will definitely be coming back.

“Excellent Apartment in Courbevoie Area of Paris”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2011

First of all I have got to mention the view. As we were on the fifteenth floor we could see the Eiffel Tower, the top of the Arc de Triomphe, Sacré-Coeur (albeit some way away) and what is apparently the tallest office building in France, nearby in La Défense. It’s especially good at night when the tower is lit-up and on the hour when we all lined-up at the window to watch it “sparkle”. The apartment itself was immaculately clean and tidy. There is also secure access to the building and the owner lives next door, so it is also very safe. There is a TV (with some English channels including BBC World News and Sky News), wifi Internet access, a phone (with free calls to UK landlines), washing machine (and room to dry in the bathroom) and dishwasher. Make sure that any children do not climb up to the windows for obvious reasons. We had absolutely no problem getting our €300 deposit back, but you will need to budget for the €60 cleaning fee, which is additional to the nightly cost. There is a supermarket in the building underneath the apartment as well as a large car park, which cost us about €41 for three days and nights’ parking. The back entrance between the supermarket / car park and the lift for the apartment is not very attractive, but again there was no problem and don’t judge the apartment by that. It is about 15 minutes walk to La Défense, which is where you can catch the Metro and RER in to Paris. It is one station away from the Arc de Triomphe on the RER. We also got back late at night and there were no problems walking back to the apartment. The only slight difficulty we had was finding it in the first place – set your satnav for Rue du Verseau, which is the entrance to the car park, rather than Rue Baudin, which is the address.
