Location description from owner

The Canary Islands region

Most people visit Lanzarote to enjoy the year round warm climate, it's unique landscape and to sample the Islands cultural centres, most of which have been influenced by the famous artist Cesar Manrique.

The island is 37 miles long and 20 miles wide and is a perfect destination for sun-lovers and those who love water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, snorkelling and diving. Spectacular walking scenery and stunning mountain biking are on offer.

Beaches of all sorts can be found - including white, golden and volcanic black sand beaches - those that are suitable and safe for families, remote and wild for the surfer and even at Charco de Palo one ideal for naturists.

Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise is a family orientated and friendly place with a choice of safe and sandy beaches. Playa Bastian has its own beach and has a delightful sea-front walk on the promenade for walkers and cyclists and joggers alike. Costa Teguise is located on the eastern side of Lanzarote, close to the capital and only 10 to 15 minutes by car from the airport. It offers all types of activities and is one of the most attractive tourist areas on Lanzarote thanks to its array of beaches, variety of restauarants and bars and the general tranquillity found here. This is definitely one of the preferred destinations for families visiting the island. The night -life - is better described as lively, certainly not rowdy and thanks to planning laws across Lanzarote has not been spoilt with high rise developments.

One of the great appeals of Costa Teguise is its recreational facilities which run from a large variety of water activities to a golf course and water park. You’ll find several windsurfing schools along the Cucharas Beach and Jablillo Avenue.

Sporting and cultural events in Costa Teguise have multiplied during the last years. Qualifiers for the PWA Windsurfing World Championship at Cucharas Beach in June, the Costa Music Festival in September, the Brazilian Music Festival in June, are among the many events that take place here.

But above all the major draw of Costa Teguise are the beaches. Cucharas beach is most appreciated by windsurf lovers while Bastian Beach is ideal for families with small children since it is easily accessible and protected from the winds. Though smaller than the others, the fine white sandy beach of Jablillo is also of note.

If you are in Costa Teguise, you should visit the Pueblo Marinero (fishing village) which is a cluster of typical Canary buildings as conceived by the artist, César Manrique. Restaurants, pubs and shops, as well as a market held every Friday from 19:00 hours, can be found there.

Recent years have seen improvements in the Costa Teguise infrastructure with new highways, better signage and tourist facilities among others. The Costa Teguise tourist office has undergone changes as well; it has been moved to the edge of Pueblo Marinero, which has also had a major facelift.

As an interesting aside, the house that King Hussein of Jordan presented to King Juan Carlos can be found in Costa Teguise.

“many happy memories”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2017

stayed at siesta for our 40th anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed the experience,in fact we have booked it again for later on in the year already.it is a lovely villa on a lovely peaceful complex and comes as described on the net.we found the mattress comfortable, lovely shower, plenty of supplied towels.private sunbathing was an added bonus if you didn't fancy sun bathing at one of the local pools.one was approx. 100 metres awaynext to the welcoming los amigos bar and restaurant. and if we didn't fancy that the local amenitieswere only a short stroll away.we have some very happy memories of our stay here and cant wait for September to come round.ps cant comment on the washer machine as we didn't use it.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for this review - so pleased you enjoyed your stay and appreciated your private feedback also.

“Shabby accomadation ready for refitt”

Reviewed 22 Mar 2017

playa bastion is a good place for a quiet holiday, plenty of good places to eat and good walking down the prom. been 3 times now very good, but you have to find the right place to stay this time it was not the right place washing machine useless you need a good one if your going for longer than a week it took on average 10 to 15 minutes to get it going give it up as a bad job after a week its a joke. bed is awful headboard metal loose so it keeps banging on wall, one thin fitted sheet pillows so lumpy all ready to throw away. bedroom two glad i did not sleep in there so damp, size wise i would not call it a bedroom bathroom all needs an update . lounge kitchen cupboards dirty i has to clean them and all the pots before i used them no light over hob and no extraction so when you cooked something it stunk the place out, knives and forks so old and not one sharp one ,cupboards in such need of repair needs new ones, tiling a mess, the two settees need throwing out so uncomfortable, if you sit out in sun you need a umbrella there was a broken one and the chairs and table where for a midget and so on. i could go on saying more and i tried to text and ring the owner but no reply about things, i did get a reply about the safe its for owner use only, great,.

Owner's reply: Thanks for writing. I had only one contact from you during your stay and I responded about the safe which we do not advertise as a facility. There is a message in the welcome book saying please contact either Lori or myself if you are not satisfied with anything immediately so we can rectify. I also remember recommending a place in Alborada when you told me of your requirements but you said you would prefer to stay here. Of course we have been checking out the points raised.

“Lovely holiday rental”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2016

I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday to Lanzarote. The island is fascinating and to one who has never been to the Canary Islands it was a unique experience and a lovely holiday. The villa was lovely. The living room was spacious with 2 very comfortable sofas (excellent for afternoon naps!) and the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need and was lovely and clean on arrival. The main bedroom was great with lots of storage to hang clothes, put away suitcases and display all the toiletries a girl (or guy) will need on holiday! The small bedroom (perfect for kids) was off the main bedroom and has bunk beds and adequate storage for clothes! The bathroom was a good size with a spacious shower and again was clean on arrival. Plenty of clean towels were supplied (bath towels, hand towels and tea towels). The availability of a washing machine (and cleaner) is a bonus! The outdoor space was terrific, providing space to sunbath (with loungers) and space to sit outside but out of the sun under cover with a table and chairs (excellent for outdoor dining). The location of the villa was amazing, seconds from the complex pool and a bar and minutes from the beach! At the top of the road of the complex was a supermarket and plenty of places to eat, lots of souvenir shops, rental car places and excursion guides. Will definitely use this villa again!

Owner's reply: Lovely to read your detailed and positive review - thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to write and hope you will visit again in the future.
