“Disappointing pictures out of date and dirty”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2016

General condition of villa unacceptable. Having contacted owner by text on first day to express dissatisfaction the only offer was to arrange a cleaner or for us to move. This was not possible due to ages of party and distress at finding own alternative accomodation. Despite correspondence continuously over a one month period owner disclaims any responsibility. Location of villa is in a run down estate known locally as Beruit no street lighting or general maintenance appears to have been carried out for some time.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our home. Reviews are always helpful for us so that we are able to take differing opinions on board and make amendments where necessary. This review comes as no surprise to me and is just as I expected In this instance I do feel I should point out that yes the guests did complain on the second day of arrival. I tried numerous times to resolve their claims and have continued to do so since then to no avail My offer wasn’t to just move as is claimed in the review. My offer was that if they were so unhappy with the villa that I would gladly offer them a full and complete refund and would also have helped them to find alternative accommodation. This was refused and the party chose to stay there for the full week. Despite asking many times what I could do to ensure that they enjoyed their holiday I had no response and still find myself at a complete loss as to what I could actually offer them other than the offers I made. I actually went out there myself at the end of their stay as I was so alarmed at the claims to find that there was absolutely nothing wrong. Guests who have stayed there since have enjoyed it so much that have already rebooked for 2 further stays If the villa was as bad as these people claim then to accept a full refund to move elsewhere would be the most sensible option and one that I offered immediately and without question. The only request came at the end of their stay when another family member made a demand on their behalf for a full complete refund despite staying the full week. This I refused which has since prompted this expected negative review As for the comments about the location then that is ill informed nonsense A better judge of the location would be to read the many positive views that have been left by other guests who have and continue to enjoy our home and also the friendly and welcoming residents and location

“Wonderful! :)”

We stayed in Dawn's Villa for a week, 4 adults and one child (under two) She hired a cot out for us and put a highchair chair attachment in for our little one. The Villa was perfect! Clean, spacious and had all the things you needed to stay there. It was very handy having a washing machine and clothes horse too! There are 3 bedrooms, one has a unsuite bathroom and aircon, the other two have floor fans. There is also a seperate bathroom inbetween the two bedrooms without unsuite. Two rooms have double beds, the other room has two single beds. All rooms had big wardrobes! The living room has aircon and has a large 6 seater table and chairs. There is a fully working TV and DVD player with books and some CD's to listen to. The pool is around the back of the Villa, and it is very peaceful and nearly silent! There are steps to the roof terrace where you can put the sun loungers. There is a nice patio area with table/seats and umbrella. There is a BBQ which we used! There are bars and restruants around the corner with friendly owners. We liked the Stoners Irish Bar :) There is a long, beautiful walk to town (Caleta) It follows the coastline and is very picturesque. Bring some food along with you if you want to feed the chipmunks along the way! (€3/4 for a cab into town!) It was very relaxing! Dawn was so helpful before the holiday as well as when we were there and we would like to say a big thank you! We will be back again :) Lee, Kate, Kerry, Craig and little Frankie :) x

“Excellent, we love it.”

This was our 3rd holiday in the villa, and we will keep returning for as long as its available, we love it, & would highly recommend it. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday its the perfect setting, it has everything you need you can have lazy days by the pool, or if you wish to venture out its a lovely walk down the costal path into the next town, & you can visit various other places via the local buses. Their is a small supermarket, and a few small restaurants very close by they are all very friendly and welcoming. And if you want more of a night out you can go into the next town and get a taxi back for around 4 Euros.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your lovely comments. It's very important to us that you enjoy your holidays with us and hope that you continue to share our home in the future :-)

“Fantastic”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2011

We have been visiting Fuerteventura for almost 15 years and have always previously stopped in Caleta. After visiting Nuevo Horizonte last year for a couple of days out, we decided that we would give it a try. The Villa was fantastic with a generous pool, excellent facilities and some lovely touches (DVD's for all the family, games, etc). Communication with the owners leading up to the holiday was first-class and they supported our needs and responded promptly and effectively to our requests. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The property is well positioned in a quiet cul-de-sac overlooks both the sea and the nearby town of Caleta de Fuste, a short coastal walk away. Nuevo Horizonte (Costa Antigua) was fantastic for us, but others may find it too quiet. There are a handful of bars and restaurants offering excellent value ( a lot less expensive than Caleta), but all live music and Karaoke ends around midnight due to the residential position of the businesses. If you are looking for peace and tranquility with the option of a good night out with the predominantly English and Irish local community, then Nuevo is for you. If you want a bit more life, then Caleta is four and a half Euro's away in a taxi.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review for us we do appreciate it very much. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and hope you will stay with us again in the future
