Corwen

The house and cottage is part of the village of Derwen which is a short walking distance away. Here there is a church first mentioned
in 1254 AD. with rare Rood Screen with loft and a 15-century preaching cross in the churchyard.

It is an ideal centre for a variety of activities, birdwatching and walking. The Llyn Brenig and Alwen reservoirs with the Clocaenog
Forest, a good choice for combining both recreations. Llyn Derwen Fishery incorporating Hardy Flyfishing School is 10 mins drive
from the cottage.

“Relaxing”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2016

Irene and Juliano were lovely and very helpful. The cottage was clean and I was able to have a relaxed environment for myself and my son. You will need a car as the cottage is outside of the nearest village of Corwen. But this is to be expected in North Wales. The location was ideal for me as it was close to my fathers village. The best part was having the freedom for my son (aged 10) to get outside, which I wouldn't have had from a hotel. The only downside was locking the gate at night but I appreciate it was necessary. I had the experience of using a wood burner, which I was never able to master but I got tips from Juliano so I persevered. I wouldn't recommend very young children as there are stairs and steps outside, but an older child would manage. It is a quiet area so it may not suit all children. I would recommend this cottage for a relaxing holiday and I am very pleased with our experience.

Owner's reply: Thank you Donna for your review of our cottage. It was kind of you to take the trouble. We are glad to hear that you and Kiera enjoyed your stay with us. It was such a shame that the weather was not kinder to you both, but at least the first couple of days were nice and you were able to get your washing done. kind regards Irene
