“Tuscan Dream”

Reviewed 19 May 2014

I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful Tuscan Dream Villa. The owner Christine was on another continent went out of her way to make us feel at home and cater to our every need through email exchanges and her wonderful house keeper. The house was everything we could have possibly wanted and so much more. The villa was roomy and very tastefully decorated with quality fixtures and fittings. The kitchen was well equipped with basic cooking requirements. The bedrooms were tastefully decorated with quality bedding. The atmosphere of the house and surrounds was very conducive to rest and relaxation. The township of Cortona was a delight and handy to the house. The owner was very accommodating and readily available if neeed. A car is recommended if you are staying in this accommodation although we got by without one, thanks to the owner and some helpful suggestions.

Owner's reply: For guests who travel halfway around the world it is wonderful to hear that your Tuscan holiday more than met your expectations. Thank you.

“Fabulous place - didn't want to leave”

Beautiful house with fabulous views. Very peaceful and a great place to just unwind and soak up the atmosphere. It is a good base for day trips to Florence and Assisi and of course for just spending the day wandering the old town of Cortona and the surrounding area.

Owner's reply: Tuscany is a wonderful location to enjoy your holiday and at Villa Rosa we try our best to make sure it is the best holiday you have had. Thank you

“A little bit of paradise”

A beautiful house in a wonderful location! This is our 5th visit to Villa Rosa and we certainly aim to keep returning! Everything about the property is superb - the lavender in the gardens, the inviting crystal clear swimming pool, meals al freso, the well stocked bookcases and the trips to Lucca's bar on the corner for a nightcap!

Owner's reply: Lucca's bar at Torreone continues to spoil Villa Rosa guests with his generous hospitality for breakfast, lunch and nightcaps!

“Just the most beautiful location and Villa”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2013

We stayed for a week in this wonderful Villa. The Villa was very clean and had spectacular views across the valley. The pool was ideal and we lazed around it for a few days. Cortona was very close by and we had a few days walking around the city and taking in the views and the experiencing the food, the wine and the local culture. We also took the train to Florence and it was a very easy trip.

Owner's reply: Seeing the Tuscan sites while based in Cortona at Villa Rosa is indeed easy - whether you take a car or catch the train. That is what helps makes holidays enjoyable - the ease to get around. Thank you.

“Little spot of Italian Heaven”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2013

My favorite time of day at Villa Rosa is early morning when the sun burns away the mist in the valley, and all you can hear are birds, thousands and thousands of birds! There are even a few cuckoo birds which actually DO sound exactly like the clocks, and the hummingbirds are so exciting EVERY time you see them (yeah, I'm a bird nut). Even though you're a 15 minute leisurely walk from the most excellent village, Cortona, Villa Rosa seems to be in the middle of nowhere, far indeed from the madding crowd. You could hear a pin drop at night, all the better to hunt fireflies... Italy gets pretty hot in the summer, especially the afternoon, so when it's siesta time I recommend closing all of the villa's shutters nice and tight, which creates a wonderful cocoon of dark coolness... perfect for sleep after eating lunch outside at the huge table (if you're smart much of your time in Italy will be spent eating). I've been here twice already, and it is a place that manages to suck out ALL of your real-life stresses with its Italian panache, in a way that makes you wonder why you were so stressed in the first place. Do yourself a favour, and wallow in the loveliness that is Villa Rosa in the perfect little pocket of civilization called Cortona.

Owner's reply: I love your description of Villa Rosa being "in the perfect little pocket of civilization call Cortona". Sharing Heaven. Thank you.
