Location description from owner

The North Island region

Wyuna Bay is found in Coromandel Town which is on the north western side of a spectacular peninsula known as the Coromandel Peninsula. The Coromandel peninsula boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in New Zealand, and is one of the most popular holiday destinations for New Zealanders. Coromandel Town is only a two hour ferry ride away from Auckland city. The last time we made the trip we saw dolphins in the harbour. It is also accessible by car - a two and a half hour drive - much of it along pristine coast line.

Coromandel

The home is in a perfect location for exploring the old gold mining town of Coromandel Town and areas close by. Activities include: fishing tours, kayak adventures, bush walks and hikes, mussel barge snapper safaris, sail charters, and the famous driving creek railway - an open train ride through prehistoric rain forest.

There are also fantastic award-winning restaurants (such as the Pepper Tree) and great cafes in the township.

For those looking to explore further, the location is a great base for checking out both the northern and eastern side of the peninsula. Favorite tourist spots on the east coast include Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove Marine Reserve (recently featured in rapper Macklemore's music video). Or relax and unwind at a natural geothermal spa and springs near Whitianga.

The super friendly information center in Coromandel Town can help arrange tours and transportation to these areas. A rental car facility is also located in the township.
