Great accommodation for larger groups of friends and family, lots of safe outside space for children and a secure pool area. the house stands in its own private parkland and garden.

Refurbishment for the 2015 season, redecoration, new beds/mattresses, iPod docking station and much more - new photos to follow of bedrooms etc.

Whilst The Domain was clearly a house designed for living in the grand style, it is still very much a family home. The main rooms are all light and spacious, yet still manage to maintain a feeling of warmth and informality. The house is well furnished throughout with a mix of French and English period furniture mixed with contemporary styling in the new kitchen .

The entire property is set on a hillside and enjoys wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and stunning sunsets which all of our guests have commented on.

Domain de Villeneuve has full central heating making it very suitable for winter letting.

THE HOUSE


All in all, "Domain de Villeneuve" should be viewed as something rather special and will appeal to those who value the house in which they stay as an important element of the holiday itself.

The front door opens into a wide entrance hall with its original floors throughout. Immediately to the right is a large second lounge/study with a fleur-de-lis decorated tiled floor and huge original ceiling rose. There is a first rate hi-fi system in this room and a second TV/video play.

Opposite this room, on the other side of the entrance hall, is the main sitting-room.The ceiling is oak with exposed beams throughout. A major feature of this room is an enormous open stone fireplace. Double French doors open onto a spacious terrace. There is satellite TV for freeview channels and a DVD /video player.

The terrace, which runs the length of two sides of the house, overlooks the rear garden and pool and has fine views of the countryside beyond. It is a great spot for outdoor dining, with a large electrically operated sun-blind to provide shade during the long sunny days.

To the rear of the sitting-room is a double stone arch which leads to the dining area and access to the kitchen (which is also accessible from the hall). The kitchen was newly fitted out in 2012 is well equipped with a range cooker, microwave and dishwasher. The room is well lit with a window overlooking the pool and French doors leading out on to the dining terrace.

Off the main hall, at the rear of the house is a WC and a large utility/ laundry room equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer and large upright deep-freeze.

Finally on the ground floor, there's a double bedroom with its own shower-room en suite.

A wide staircase leads to the upper landing, at one end of which, is the master bedroom suite. The bedroom itself is a great size and furnished with a canopy bed, 3 sets of large windows. The en suite shower-room has WC, basin and large walk-in shower. There are four further bedrooms on this floor: - two twin bedded rooms (one can be made into a large double), a pretty double room and another large bedroom with views over the courtyard and gardens to the side - this room also has an en-suite bathroom/WC. The main bathroom has bath, separate shower, double basin unit and bidet. In addition there's another separate WC.

All bedrooms are comfortably furnished with ample storage space.

GARDEN & POOL

The extensive terraces allow space for outside dining/BBQ's for up to 12 people either open air or under the extendable canopy, the terrace extends around the house and kitchen where there's additional seating to enjoy the splendid views and amazing sunsets overlooking the pool area.

The 10 meter pool is set in a pretty walled section below the kitchen terrace accessed by a lockable gate and a few stone steps and completely enclosed in a pretty walled garden full of flowers and surrounded by pale stone terraces, climbing roses, clematis and lavender. There's a pebbled beach area for a shady place to sit and relax.

There are also extensive lawns beyond the pool area where ball games of all kinds can safely be played.

This is a spacious property with large rooms, its querky and a tad excentric in parts but those who choose to stay here love its space, location and individuality. If the house is up to capacity there's loads of room for everyone inside and the outside space is extensive. For a romantic getaway the sunsets are hard to beat!

The private grounds to this grand property extend from the walled garden housing the pool and terraces right up to the village at the top of the hill offering total privacy and space for lawn games and sunbathing.

The Occitanie region

Set between Cordes sur Ciel and Albi the 'County Town' of the Tarn Villeneuve sur Vere is a very pretty French Village with a lovely church and village store for essentials and daily bread.
Beautiful countryside surround the location for walking and exploring and some of the best vineyards are located closeby for you to visit and taste their produce.

Cordes-sur-Ciel

A short drive will bring you into Cordes sur Ciel one of the oldest Medieval Towns in France with its array of shops and restaurants, there's a great Baker here for exceptional breads and another for their unbeable patisserie and wonderfual cakes, the butchers not bad either and there are 3 supermakets, banks post office etc etc.

In the opposite direction lies Albi with its extensive choice of restaurants and shopping, the river runs through the town offering excusions and further exploring or you can visit the Toulouse Lautrec Museum located right next to the beautiful Cathedral.
