Location description from manager

The Paphos District

Cyprus is a stunning island, bursting with character, with some amazing sandy beaches and activities to everyone's tastes.

The island was named after the mythical Greek Goddess of Love, Aphrodite and much of the country's history has been dominated by the split between Turkish and Greeks, dividing the country in two.

The country has many qualities to suit all types of people; with its rich cultural ways, fascinating history, “Postcard Style” Beaches, variety of sporting activities and range of different cuisines.

As the country is so small, the distance from city to city is only short, making it great to explore, with the use of the public transport or hire car.

All of our Cypriot villas have pools and are carefully chosen and approved by our staff. Our high standards ensure that we select the very best villas in Cyprus to rent for our clients.

Coral Bay

Latchi is located in the north-west of Cyprus. The resort is a traditional Cypriot village, offering culture, heritage and a peaceful holiday destination. It is approximately an hour's drive from the airport.

Latchi Beach is a lovely pebble beach with crystal clear water, located close to Latchi fishing harbour, in Polis area. Yiannakis Beach is another beach close to Latchi, it is beautiful with great mountain views; the waters here are very clear and great for snorkelling and other water sports. Polis Chrysochou Bay is a beautiful sandy beach stretching from the edge of the Akamas Penninsular on the Polis/Latchi side to Pomos further around the bay, this is just a short walk from Latchi.
There are also other beaches along the coast offering watersports and activities or pure relaxation – peace and quiet with just the sounds of the waves rolling onto the beach.

Latchi, with its coastal paved walk, is the picturesque harbour of Polis, known throughout Cyprus for its fresh fish. In the past it served as a small port for shipping carobs. The old stone carob warehouses have been converted into restaurants, fish taverns and places of recreation. From Latchi, travellers to Polis can go on short cruises to the Akamas , a must for all visitors.

Latchi is close to quite a few golf courses, Elea Golf Corse being the local one. The championship golf courses of Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills are also nearby. During the hotter months of the year it is ideal to play further up the mountains as it will be cooler, Minthis Hills Golf Course is one of those available.

Latchi is on the edge of Akamas National Park. The park is a protected nature region, with walking trails, wild flowers and gorgeous tiny isolated coves, great for those who like walking and birdwatching.

Akamis Health Farm and Spa is located nearby and offers a variety of Spa and Wellness treatments, a gym and an a' la carte restaurant. More details can be found here: www.cyprushealthfarm.com

The Baths of Aphrodite is a lovely tended garden that is open to the public. Legend has it that Aphrodite used to bathe here.

“Fabulous location”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2015

This was our second visit to Villa Yialos because we liked it so much the 1st time. However things were not quite so good the second time, for instance the hot tub was broken and the owners didn't seem in any hurry to repair it, also we mentioned to Solmar last year that the pool liner was in a poor condition and hoped that it may have also been sorted out by the owners over the winter months, unfortunately not. The sun loungers were also in a poor state and were in need of a bit of TLC as were the parasols. The beds may have been good once but not any more as the mattresses are in poor condition so if you have a bad back might forget it as it caused me a problem. We booked with Solmar Villas and were hoping to see a rep or somebody so we could discuss our concerns but no contact was made by them during the two weeks we were in the villa. Now on a good note it was a fantastic place with great sea views with the seclusion/privacy that we like.

Thanks for the feedback, we'll get straight on to sorting these out. As per our documentation we do have a rep but they won't disturb you but are on call 9am - 9 pm to call or text if you have anything you are unhappy with. Solmar

“Superb villa and a great holiday”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2013

This was a second visit to Villa Yialos the first being in 2011. The villa was previously rented through Meon and we had been looking to return here but it had taken several weeks to find it again through Solmar, so happy days!!!! The villa is superb and a joy to stay at in every way, cleanliness, fixtures, size and location. It ain't cheap but when you compare with lesser properties you know why. I have said to Nagis and Christina who own the villa, that when my 6 numbers come up on the lottery a cheque will be heading their way and the property deeds will be heading to us!! The villa is large and bigger than we need for the two us but hey the space is fantastic and we don’t have to clean it!!! It’s an ideal villa if you want to just crash and relax or if you want to use it as a base for sightseeing or activities, with a lot of water activities centred in Latchi which is only a 5 minute drive away. With its amenities and pool it's great for families with young children or if a group of you wanted to stay. With its location a little of the beaten track, (though not in the middle of nowhere), a car is pretty well essential. Latchi as a resort is very small and fairly quiet, though it does have a good selection of restaurants and bars at the marina and nearby Polis has a good supermarket, banks and an array of bars, restaurants and other shops. There was only one slight problem this time as the pool was not as clean as previously, however having spoke to the rep, Nagis's son was there within the hour and the filter replaced later that day and all sorted. The villa is a step up in rental property comfort and I'm sure we will be visiting it again in 2014/15. As we said it isn't cheap but certainly worth saving up a few extra bob and push the boat out!!!!!
