Castle Reach is situated in an enviable location, right next to Conwy Castle and only a two minute walk to the picturesque quayside. The 200 year old building is full of character and charm and the fantastic sea and castle views make it a perfect holiday house.
Arranged over four floors it is surprisingly spacious and airy for a town house. There is a separate play area for the kids with plenty toys, games, books and DVDs for all ages. Outside there is a private patio, perfect for al-fresco dining. Gas central heating and double glazing make it suitable for a holiday at any time of year.
All the amenities of Conwy are on the doorstep, with pubs, restaurants, cafes, artisan shops and art galleries all just a very short walk away. Nearby you will find fantastic unspoilt beaches, great walking and biking in the Snowdonia National Park and several golf courses and National Trust properties. “Spacious, well equipped, central, clean”
We had a fantastic week - the first time we've stayed in a holiday home bigger than our own home! Very spacious - plenty of room to spread out - attic room ideal for children bored with the rain - we barely saw them! Well equipped with everything you need and more - nice touches like branded hand soap. Lovely views from house. Very clean. Central to the town, castle etc and the more general area. Everywhere we drove was a gorgeous view even in the rain (Snowdon spectacular). Only downside is parking - there's plenty of it - but limited to max hours so have to remember to move when time's up.
“Its smaller on the outside.....”
My wife and I together with our ten year old daughter are regular visitors to Conwy and have stayed in several cottages within the town walls over the last ten years. These are always full of character but often lacking in space, especially where modern conveniences such as bathrooms and kitchens have had to be shoehorned in. For this visit, over Christmas 2012 we were to be accompanied by my wife's brother, his wife and their two year old son from the USA so we needed something larger, but we still wanted to be within the town walls. From the website Castle Reach seemed to fit the bill and was very reasonably priced when compared with other invariably more distant properties in the area, so we crossed our fingers and booked although I was fully expecting it to be a bit of a squeeze for six of us. On arrival we were surprised and delighted to find that behind the rather unremarkable front door was a very large, comfortable and well appointed property, well decorated and finished throughout. There was ample room for all of us, the children would happily have spent all week in the attic room with all its games, and having two bathrooms meant that each family had its "own" facilities, while the large well equipped kitchen enabled us to cook proper meals for all. Our trip was part of a larger family gathering in the area and at one point we had about a dozen visitors in the house as well as ourselves, who could all be entertained with room to spare. Overall I would thoroughly recommend Castle Reach.
“Comfortable, spacious accommodation in fantastic location within town walls”
Excellent accommodation, easy to find, short walk to station, buses and car parking very close, good choice of shops all around. Lovely views over the estuary especially from main bedroom, and pleasant dining kitchen with views of castle walls. The whole area is worth exploring and easy to reach...Llandudno, Bangor, Caernarvon, Anglesey, and locally, the outstanding RSPB reserve with the best scenic backdrop I've come across.
“Beautiful location with everything catered for.”
My partner and I stayed at Castle Reach in october.I had never been to Conwy before but will certainly return as it is a beautiful town with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. The house itself is smartly fitted out with all the modern conveniences and, although feeling very classy, is wonderfully homely. It felt like a home away from home into which my partner and I fitted straight into. We both found that anything we needed had been catered for. Its location too is very central for discovering Conwy. Neither of us drive and yet we managed to fill our week effortlessly by exploring the view, discovering Conwy and its castle (which is literally round the corner from the house), the nearby RSPB reserve, and the amazing town of Llandudno and the Great Orme, which is a short bus ride away. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Castle Reach and thank the owners again for a lovely week away.
“Home from home and much more”
Castle Reach was the perfect holiday home for us and our two year old twin daughters. Spacious, clean and well equipped, we felt right at home straight away. The girls loved the attic with all the games and childrens films and books. For the adults there's the huge living room to wile away the evenings chilling out watching the big T.V. or playing with the chess set. Although there isn't parking immediately outside, it wasn't a problem to drop our stuff off (and we had a lot) and we easilly found free parking within a five minute walk. Perfectly located next to the castle and only a couple of minutes from the harbour and all the shops. The owner was really helpful and provided us with all the information we could possibly have needed. Would thouroughly recommend and if we ever venture back to that part of the country Castle Reach will be our first port of call.
“The perfect base for a wonderful holiday”
Castle Reach is a delightful and extremely comfortable apartment, perfectly located for a holiday in Snowdonia, as the National Park starts practically at the end of the high street. You can leave the car and explore the area by foot/public transport, with the main bus stop just feet from the front door and the railway station a few yards up the road. Don't be put off by the fact that Castle Reach is opposite a pub on an 'A' road, as most through traffic by-passes the town: there is very little traffic indeed at night and we didn't notice any disturbance at all (and we do consider ourselves rather sensitive in this respect!). Conwy is a lovely, friendly town and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Castle Reach was the perfect base for a wonderful holiday.
“Lovely location and home from home”
The property is set in a beautiful location close to the town with easy access to plenty of things to do in North Wales. The owner is very helpful and easy to deal with. We had a great holiday. Due to its central location parking required ingenuity but did not cause us a problem even with two cars as previous guests had plenty of suggestions. The house was well equipped and comfortable.
“Best place to stay in Conwy / LLandudno”
Two years in a row my wife and I have traveled from the United States to stay in Conwy. I do not think there is a better place to stay in the area than Castle Reach. It is centrally located. Restaurants and pubs are within walking distance. The place itself is well appointed, spacious, with far more amenities (full kitchen, washer-dryer) than other places that cost quiet a bit more. The owner is also very accommodating and responsive. A large part of the reason our holidays have been so enjoyable the past two years is having Castle Reach as a very comfortable home base. You will not be disappointed with you stay here.
“Fantastic place for a fmily to stay!”
We stayed for a week in July 2011 with 2 children; 4 and 7 year old girls. They immediately loved the place and were delerious when they saw the attic play room. Castle Reach is extremely well supplied with everything you'll need to live for a week and the kitchen has everything you could need. The whole place is very roomy with lots of reading material on the bookshelves to get the most out of your stay. Located within a stone's - throw from the castle and only a couple of minute's walk into the town. We were happy with our choice and would certainly use Castle Reach again and the communication from the owner was wonderful - they answered any questions/queries immediately and fully and gave great instructions as to how to get there, what to being etc. Couldn't fault it, made our holiday and the kids wanted photos of themselves in each and every room as a reminder of a very happy holiday thanks in no small part to our choice of this accommodation!
Owner's reply: I am delighted you all enjoyed your stay so much. You may be interested to know we have a new flat screen television for the lounge now with a new remote. You also marked us down on 'overall condition' and we currently have the decorators in to replaster and repaint the whole of the hall/stairs/landings, which were looking a bit tired. I hope we do see you again.
“Fantastic views over a lovely town”
This is one of the nicest holiday cottages I've stayed in. The views were amazing! The house felt really spacious - large living room, and the bonus attic space to amuse our three-year-old in on grey days - and being over four floors gave it real character. The location was perfect - great to be so central in such a pretty town, handy for walking on the town walls, exploring the woods, and on the doorstep of Plas Mawr and the most *fantastic* castle... and Conwy was perfect as a base for some lovely days out with the children in North Wales (Beaumaris Castle, the beaches at Llandudno and Colwyn Bay, the Welsh Mountain Zoo...) The house was clean and comfortable, the kitchen was kitted out with everything we needed, and the owners were friendly and helpful throughout. Would definitely recommend it to friends, and would like to come back some day!
