Description

Isabella house is a stone built, detached property with off road parking for 3 cars, run by experienced holiday let owners since June 2011. Isabella house is fully insured for holiday let purposes and registered with County Durham tourist office, where you can find direct details of our property. Our priority is to ensure guests have a great stay at our home. Isabella house has an open plan ground floor layout which makes it ideal for groups to holiday together.There is a large garden and decking area for outdoor entertaining. The house sleeps up to 10 adults max. The first floor has a family bathroom and 4 large bedrooms, consisting of,the master bedroom having a magnificent en-suite with wc , spa bath and power shower, There is a fold out 3ft single bed also in this room. 2 double bedrooms, 1 with a cot and the other with a single bed. The 4th bedroom has 2 single beds suitable for adults or children.

Ideally located for outdoor holidays the area is criss crossed with footpaths and cycle paths and there are golf courses and horse riding stables on the doorstep. It is 10 minutes from the Derwent Walk which forms part of the coast to coast cycle track. The famous Beamish Museum is a 15 minute drive away and the beautiful Pennines just 10 minutes to the West.

The historic city of Durham and party city of Newcastle are each 13 miles away with Northumberlands beautiful coastline with it's pretty fishing villages only 40 minutes drive.

Also close by are Durham Cathedral and Castle, Hadrians Wall, Bamburgh Castle,The Metro shopping and entertainment Centre, Newcastle's famous bridges and quayside, Angel of the North and Alnwick Gardens.

Closer to home there are 2 excellent village pubs just a few minutes stroll from the house. Both offer a warm welcome and sell real ales and good food.

Isabella house is warmed with gas central heating throughout and supplemented with underfloor heating in the conservatory, dining room and kitchen and a gas fire in the lounge to ensure a cosy feel right through the year.The kitchen is open plan with a gas hob in the centre island so that the chef of the day doesn't miss out on the family fun when cooking!

“Great family holiday”

Great holiday at ISABELLA HOUSE. All 7 of us had a fantastic time on holiday with lots to do and many places to visit. Went to local hotels where we were served lovely meals from very friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Will definately come back if house is available as it is a great size with 4 large bedrooms and a great eating/entertaining area and a very nice garden. Super holiday.

Me and my family, a party of 7 adults and 3 children stayed at Isabella House July 16-23, 2013. Our reason for being there was the wedding of our son in St. Robert church in Newcastle.. Our stay at Isabella House was very good. The house was very good for this group of 10. The garden was wonderful to stay in and the children had good times playing in the garden. It took us only about 30 min. to drive to Newcastle and experience what a city has to offer. But every time we returend back to the quiet village of Medomsley we were happy to be back in the more relaxed environment. The owners of Isabella House did us a great service which we appreciate very much. Robert

Isabella house is lovely place to stay. The conservatory and large open plan kitchen, diner and lounge provide lots of space and are quite luxurious. Bedrooms have very comfy beds and the views are breathtaking. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Our 2nd visit to this lovely house and equally as enjoyable as the first. Our mission was a family christening in the nearby area, a bit of shopping and more exploring of the many things to see and do within easy travel radius. The house is a delight, warm welcoming and so comfortable it felt like home with all the family sitting round the big dining table and enjoying board games, chats and banter.... we'll do it again for sure!

With four couples and two very small children this house fitted the bill perfectly. There was plenty of space, it was very well equipped and it would have been nice to have been able to stay longer than a weekend. We used it as a base for four members of the family to take part in the Great North Run and it worked really well for that too.

House is a very high standard with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. Very clean and a really nice homely feel. We stayed with extended family, our youngest child is 1 and the oldest member of our party is 81. It suited us all. It is good to have 2 bathrooms and the bedrooms are a great size. Loved the fact that there is plenty of seating so a large group can sit together for meals and to relax. It is a short drive to Beamish Museum which was the reason we booked.

Very spacious house with everything you require. Spent week here with our dog, our son and his family. Nice garden for children to play in and secure. Very good base for sight-seeing. Will certainly have no hesitation in recommending this house to family and friends.

We stayed at Isabella house for 4 weeks in June, with 4 young children, aged from 1-8 years and it suited us perfectly. It is a large, modern, comfortable house with everything you could need and would be especially suited to larger groups or families. There are 4 bedrooms, all with doubles with 2 bathrooms upstairs and a shower room downstairs. The area is quiet and surrounded by countryside - the views from upstairs are fantastic! There is a small shop and pub in close walking proximity and larger shops a short drive away. We had a lovely stay and particularly enjoyed sitting on the back deck or in the conservatory watching the kids in the garden. The house represented great value for money for us, as it is competitively priced with other holiday "cottages" in the area and also offers free wifi and a weekly clean (from a lovely lady who looked after us well!). As we are originally from the area, we had several friends visiting us, commenting on how wonderful the house was and how they would recommend it to anyone they knew who were visiting the area. We would not hesitate to recommend Isabella house either and we hope to stay there again in the near future.

The thought and consideration that has gone into providing the perfect holiday home is fantastic. Everything, even for a larger group, is there. It is spacious, clean and comfortable. There is a sunny conservatory overlooking the large beautifully kept rear garden, and seating on the decking area, ideal for outside dining. We (between 8 and 10 people) have had 3 holidays at Isabella House and have no doubt that we will return. It is a great location for getting to Durham, Newcastle, the Metro Center and the outstanding beaches of Northumberland. It is also very close to Beamish Museum. The welcome when we arrived was warm and friendly - excellent.

How do damage deposits work?
