Description

Stay in the house that John Ruskin built at Brantwood. The Lodge has been recently refurbished to create a stunning holiday let with views across Coniston Water to the fells. It can sleep up to 9 people in two doubles, two twins and a single room and there are varying tariffs depending on the number of people staying. The minimum stay is 3 nights. The Lodge is centrally heated and has a cosy wood burning stove with an ample supply of logs from Brantwood's 250 acre estate. All bed linen and towels are provided and the Lodge is well equipped for a comfortable stay. The Lodge has its own private patio with stunning views. Guests are welcome to visit the historic house and gardens during their stay at no extra cost.

The local area is excellent for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, kayaking and sailing. The Lodge has a lockable store if you wish to bring outdoor equipment. If you prefer a gentle stroll, Brantwood's 250 acre woodland estate offers a variety of paths

The Lake District in Cumbria is one of the most scenic areas in the UK with stunning mountains, lakes, valleys and picture postcard villages. It is a region steeped in heritage, culture and adventure.

Coniston

Brantwood has a stunning location overlooking Coniston Water and the fells beyond. Coniston is surrounded by a stunning mountain landscape. The lake is ideal for canoeing, kayaking and sailing, with plenty of access to the shore for spending time by the water. There are regular sailings on the National Trust Steam Yacht Gondola and the ferry service provided by Coniston Launch. The Coniston fells provide excellent walking with a range of low level and higher level routes. Grizedale Forest on the east side of the lake has many cycling and walking routes and is within easy reach of Brantwood's estate.

Coniston itself is a working village and has a range of shops, cafes and pubs.
