“Beautiful Beckside Cottage!”

Reviewed 27 Dec 2016

Nothing has been left to chance in this top class holiday accommodation. The location, the decor, the comfort has all been taken care of, so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy it! Our visit was in winter with frosty clear mornings but the well tended and interesting garden has various options for outdoor dining and just relaxing in the warmer weather. This is one of my favourite areas of the lakes, so we were very pleased to find such a great place to explore it from. From the car parking area, you follow the Cottage round and enter the main door and the bedrooms are downstairs so you can appreciate the spectacular views from upstairs. The very attractive subtley themed bedrooms are well appointed with beautifully clean and comfortable beds and linen. Our bathroom was spotless and we had the choice of a shower or a soak in the bath, great to have the option depending on the length of the chosen walk! The large sitting room has plenty of seating for all, and apart from all the normal home comforts it also has a beautiful grand piano which was a real treat, just wished I could play! The kitchen is spacious, well equipped and has the added bonus of a wood burner which leads through to the dining area keeping everything really cosy. There are really excellent pubs in this area of the Lakes which the owners , Simon and Lesley , who are very knowledgeable about the area, can recommend to you when you book, along with walks and other local attractions. I can wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful cottage to you, from the moment you arrive it feels like home!

“Homely and comfortable.”

A very well-equipped home from home where we spent a restful week. It is well situated for walks nearer the coast and for the central Lakes. The piano was a joy as we have a musician in the family. Excellent shopping in Ulverston, just 5 miles away and a nice pub with good pub food a short walk away. It wasn't quite as isolated as we'd thought as it was joined with another cottage. The kitchen and lounge are on the first floor which makes eating/snacking outside a bit of a mission. However, we spent a very comfortable week there and did some excellent walking without having to drive too far.

“Highly recommended”

An excellent cottage, the photos don't do it justice. The place is really well looked after and exceeds expectations. I would love to stay here again!

“Home from Home”

I returned to stay at Beckside Cottage and it was every bit as wonderful as I remembered. It is an "upside down" cottage in a beautiful setting and easy to get to from the M6. As soon as you walk in the door you relax, from everyday life and enjoy everything this much loved and cared for cottage has to offer. It is the cleanest and most well equiped place. The owners seem to really love and care for it. The beds and bedding are a dream, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location of the cottage makes it ideal for visiting the lakes or the local pubs. Would love to visit again!

“Story book setting.”

We loved our trip to the lakes, and our stay at the Beckside Cottage. Location location location. Close to miles and miles of nature trails, cozy pubs, restaurants, and lakes. If you don't feel like getting out, the cottage is very nice and very comfortably equipped with a large top notch kitchen. Fond memories of night caps by the living room fire, and breakfast where the morning sun warms your back at the kitchen table :).

“I wish my own home was as nice as Beckside Cottage”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2012

A lovely, clean and well equipped cottage in the heart of the South Lakes area. We've stayed a number of times over the years as a couple and with family. The location is ideally suited for all types of lakeland activities from walking through to cycling and, of course, visiting the local pubs. We'll be back again later in the year.

“lovely break, home form home”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2012

Had a lovely stay in this beautiful home form home in the Lake Distict. Plenty of room for 6 of us in this well equiped, very clean and tastfully styled holiday cottage, in a great location. Would recomend to groups of friends and families. Will be back !!!
