Description

Sleeps
2 - 6

If you want to stay in a quintessential Lakeland cottage, then look no
further. Stone Leys Cottage is just that. A double-fronted slate
property, with whitewashed sidewalls and front porch, and with a hedged
front garden, it is a delight to see. Situated in Haws Bank, a couple of
minutes south of Coniston, Stone Leys was built over 200 years ago and
was the home of the wheelwright at Coniston Hall. Today it is the
perfect base for enjoying the outdoors, with easy access to fells for
walking and biking, the lake for messing about in boats (temporary
Coniston Sailing Club membership available for dinghy owners) and pony
trekking is not too far either.

The porch is ideal for leaving
your outdoor equipment; muddy boats, waterproofs or sailing gear,
whatever you've been up to. There's even space for bikes, boats or
canoes in the drive. As you go in, to your right is the living room,
bathed in light from the large

your outdoor equipment; muddy boats, waterproofs or sailing gear,
whatever you've been up to. There's even space for bikes, boats or
canoes in the drive. As you go in, to your right is the living room,
bathed in light from the large windows and with three large comfy sofas,
HD TV, Sky Sports, oak beams and wood-burning stove, you'll be right at
home. Next door is another living area but with children in mind -
table football, their own sofa, TV and DVD, Wi-Fi as well as a PS2 and
loads of games. You'll have trouble getting them out of there!

The
kitchen and dining area is huge and will easily accommodate large
groups. There's an Aga (as well as a normal cooker) and views out to the
cottage garden (with barbecue) and babbling brook running alongside.
There's a laundry room and a pantry complete with dishwasher. Stairs go
up to the landing and three bedrooms. Stone Leys is perfect for large
active (and inactive) families!
